I find it hard to believe...that Sanchez would've missed Cotchery in the endzone on that bootleg....but you never know i guess. Sanchez did miss Cotch in the endzone in Toronto.

I just think Clemens is more consistent with his inaccuracy.

EDIT: IS beat me to the "point"....good work, buddy.

Haha, I forgot about Sanchez missing him in Toronto but he did. That was more glaring because Sanchez usually doesn't miss by that much. Clemens didn't surprise me so much since we all saw the FG parade in 2007.

that's one thing I'll give Pennington...he was lights out in the redzone.....I hope Sanchez turns in that kind of production during his tenure here.

    Clemens....is just a lost cause.

I'm almost certain Cotch was not the first read on that play. It was a bad miss but the one Clemens missed yesterday was an easier throw and almost certainly the first read. Sanchez probably hits it easy.

Maybe if Schottenheimer subbed Brad Smith for Sanchez half the game it would cut down on his INTs. Schotty was doing everything he could to keep from having Clemens throw the ball. 'Very bad' is being nice. He was pathetic.

There's less space in the red zone so accuracy is more important, which Chad had and Clemens certainly lacks. Chad didn't throw a red zone pick for what, the first five years of his career? When he finally did it was on 4th down.

When I saw the run fake then Clemens roll out, likely with a run/throw option, that almost always leads to a TD when the QB can move, which Clemens can do. Happens against us all the time and the guy is always open in the back of the end zone. I thought we had a TD there for sure.

I think any reasonable person would say Sanchez throws some interceptions on those plays Clemens did not try and force it in there.

Clearly, the game plan was to play not to lose with regards to the QB position. He did that to a T. You can afford to play that way when you're playing against an inept offense with arguably the league's best defense.

That said, he missed some throws that make you scratch your head. Could that be rust? Yeah I guess -- but still a pro level QB should be able to hit a receiver on a 10 yard route and not throw it over their heads by 10 feet.

One he threw high and away would have been a pick-6 had it been anywhere near on target. Saved from himself.

Could he have thrown an INT or more? Sure. Why would "any reasonable person" assume he would though? He's been relatively safe with the ball in his last couple of starts and since the "red light/green light" system was implemented by Ryan.

Ryan seemed to have red light on for the majority of the game yesterday, which was obviously smart.

Yes, because we can predict the unknown.

    Only if you're reasonable.

So, it's plausible to predict Sanchez could have connected on more pass plays yesterday, I assume, call me crazy!, based on his past performance, but it's not okay to say the same about ints?

We know Sanchez has 17 ints in 12 starts including the Buff game he only played the first half. Plus there's the three turnovers off fumbles.

That averages to nearly two turnovers a game.

But I guess I should predict no more turnovers the rest of the year!

Oh and btw Sanchez's completion percentage is roughly what Clemens's was yesterday.

The Sanchez homers here are quite amusing, I must say.

I guess you're just stuck on looking at the numbers on nfl.com at face value and not taking into consideration anything else.

The fact that more than 70% of his INT's occured in 25% of his games or the fact that Ryan has stepped in to make sure he's being more careful with the ball is irrelevant to you. The fact that the "red light" was obviously on for the large majority of Clemens' snaps is also irrelevant.

Sanchez threw 17 INTs so he must be ready to throw another.

And where did you get your stats from?

Sanchez has started 13 games, including the Buffalo game that he played the first half for.

He has thrown interceptions in 8 of the 13 (including the Buffalo game where he fumbled, but it was recovered), meaning he didn't throw interceptions in only four complete games, and he fumbled in three of those four. Despite your implication he has been doing better lately, in his last three complete games he threw 7 interceptions, and that included one in the first game he had the color codes for.

Now I certainly hope the ints go way down when he comes back. Will they? You don't know any better than I do.

But is it fair for me to refer to his past performances? I think so. I think a Qb who throws as many ints as he has might very well throw one or two more in his next few games. Color codes or not.

And I never said that Ryan's effort is irrelevant. How relevant it proves to be remains to be seen.

The one INT he threw since the color code system was a matter of him being slightly inaccurate rather than many of the INT's prior to that being poor decisions.

Rex had Clemens in the red light district the whole game. Of course, he should not have thrown a pick. If he were more accurate he would have thrown a pick 6.

I don't think it's unreasonable to not assume Sanchez would have thrown a pick under the same circumstances. You are just making a projection based mostly on his play prior to Ryan clamping down. Not only that but you're claiming that's the only reasonable projection.

The "only reasonable projection"?!?!? Where did I say that?

And just maybe Clemens was letting it go and let it sail because he saw the defender at the last second? You know this is not what happened how?

I didn't know Ryan was using the color system for Clemens. Thanks for the info.

What you call Ryan clamping down is making Sanchez play the same type of game manager game we saw yesterday. In fact in the Carolina game, Sanchez threw only 17 passes, while Clemens threw 23 yesterday. Point being maybe we don't see Sanchez attempting some of those plays he connected on some of earlier in the season.

Well, we could continue like this for quite some time, but I guess all we can really say with certainty is that we shall have to wait and see how much Sanchez is able to cut down on turnovers.

Where did I say Sanchez would have done any different? You lump me in with no facts. Thanks. Calling everyone a "Sanchez homer" is a little over the top. Clemens had his chance, he lost it, get over it.
