It happened in steps for me. Usually you send in the playoff money, get no game and have a deposit in for the next year. Last year after the 56-3 game I knew we'd not have a home playoff game, so I didn't send money and had no deposit. Then after the season was the lockout so I didn't send anything, after which I figured just wait and see. Like I said I had a feeling there would be seats available and they couldn't be much worse than what I had so here I am. I was kind of sad to not be a STH anymore but I was for a long time and may be again one day, but not now.
It matters because there are plenty of copycat bullshitters on this site who voice opinions on subjects they know nothing about.
I sat in 109 in the old place for years. I sat a few seasons in mezz on the 35. Corner EZ sucked imo. Mezz on the 35 was great. I sat for a few years in 328 in the old place. Now I sit in the UD corner in the new place and I have no issues with my view of the field. I can see players numbers, names, and I can see the entire field. I can watch plays develop and watch entire drives - EZ to EZ. I like my seats, I like the people I sit with and since I drive 7 hours round trip to every game, the price and lack of psl is perfect for me. Imo LL seats blow chunks.
Upper Deck is worthless, I would rather watch in a bar for the same price. Plus you never come out on top if you consider preseason games, and those stubhub prices (minus 15% fees) are going to come way down like usual once the season starts. The cheapest way to see the Jets is to pick the games you want in the lowers on the secondary market about a week out from kickoff
That's my plan for this year, will let you guys know how it goes. As a guy trying to unload seats all these years I look forward to being on the other side. I hear you about the upper deck, but for me personally I like to be there, tailgate, etc. I always record the game and re-watch it later, especially the wins.
Another thing I hate about the UD is the awful access to get out of the bulding after games, it was so simple w/ the long escalators and spirals at the old place. It's brutal getting out after a close game now.
When they had the downpours and lightning at the two early MNF games last year, nobody was allowed in the seats and the concourse was so jammed you couldn't even walk. You were just stuck there like cattle. If I'm not mistaken that was supposed to be one of the main improvements over the old stadium.
I was downstairs for both of those games and it was just as bad downstairs. It's mind boggling to me how that dump cost $1.6 billion.
:jets: That makes it more aamzing, not one but TWO teams oversaw this project and thought this was the best Stadium they could build but they got their luxury boxes and premium seating so to them that is all that matters.
Exactly. The only details they paid attention to was what kind of endangered Amazonian wood the armrests in the suites were going to be made of
I love lower level seats, you are right there in front of the action and feel apart of the game. I guess we all like different things then, It's kinda like the tits/ass debate. I do agree that they could of done a much better job on the stadium though. For some reason I really liked the Westside Stadium design.
It's incredible. I was in TX last week and visited the new Cowboys stadium. Walking up to it or just seeing it from afar it's like being on another planet. Our place is a piece of crap by comparison, and on its own merits it's still sub par. Can't believe Jets/Giants got rewarded with a Super Bowl for building this. It's a giant AC compressor where half the seating offers more inconvenience than the building predating it. The premium suites must really be something.
