101 at West Sayville CC, NY this past Sunday. First time I swung a club in about 2 years. Its all in the grip.
Played Rottella up in Pomona yesterday. Amazing course. Great shape from a recent ESPN National Tour thing. Shot 48 on the back 9. Didnt keep score for the front. Would have been really high.
Golfing today at 3:00 at Westchase Golf Course. Blues are 6700 - Par 71 Whites 6200. Not sure what our 4some wants to play yet.
Just played 2 days ago. Played at Princeton Meadows Golf Course in Princeton, NJ. Shot 90 on 18. Par 72.
Played the pitch and putt par 3 in Flushing Meadows on Thursday. Par is 54, I shot a 63. I drove a shit load of the greens, but my putting is legit atrocious. Probably could've shot Par if I didn't suck at it so bad.
I just got back from the round of my life so far. Same course I went to last week where I shot a 98, I got an 82 today, 41 on front and back. Got my first ever birdie too. Pretty pumped about it.
Didn't want to start a new thread for this, but Rush Limbaugh will be the next celebrity on The Hank Haney Project. Should be interesting to say the least. http://www.golf.com/golf/tours_news/article/0,28136,1997347,00.html
Went out for the first time yesterday. 2 par's and hit the pin on a par 3. Didnt keep score or finish the entire round. It was too nice not to get a few in. Dropped my clubs off to be re-griped today.
Ordered this http://www.teetimegolfpass.com/store/item_view.asp?estore_itemid=1000024 Places ive played before but get no "resident discount" Patriot Hills Golf Club State: NY City: Stony Point One play M-F anytime for Player's Fee $60 (cart included); no weekends or holidays. Valid 4X. MONDAY SPECIAL: One play Monday only anytime for Player's Fee $30 (cart included). Valid 1X. . Phillip J Rotella Golf Course State: NY City: Thiells $10 off non-resident greens fee M-F anytime (cart not required); no weekends or holidays. Valid 4X. Considering i only play on Mondays the Patriots Hills deal saves me 40 bucks right away. So the 50 for the card pays off after just two rounds. Nice. Plus there are many other courses around the area that i havent played but now have a reason to try.
I played Patriots Hills last fall when the price dropped to off season $$. holy shit what a course. Impossible to walk though.
I've been hittin the range a lot to dial in the swing. I'm flying my driver into the woods at closter golf range about 275 yards out. Just can't get the consistency I'm looking for with my irons. Every time I start to get comfortable with my swing I reanalyze and find more faults to fix. I guess that's the circle of golf, game takes steps back towards the ultimate goal of improvement sometimes. We should get a 4-some or 8 TGGers out on a local course with a cooler of beer this summer.
I can hit the trees halfway up the trunk on the fly at Closter. Can't hit the trees at orange burgh golf. I'm going to buy the cobra s2 this week will need the range to work with it.
In. I lost my driver. It happens every year. I'll find it but its never that great to begin with. Its ok, tour players dont even hit every fairway. But i strive to hit more. Im at the practice green far more than im at the range. Its free. And it pays off.
Same here. I am so confident in my pitching and chipping. My long irons and woods are shit. I don't get anywhere near the distance I should be getting. I'm good with my 5-6-7-8-9 irons too. I mostly 2 putt over 8 feet, which needs work too. Need to work on green vision. Though, I play the same courses (Rockleigh, Paramus, etc.) so I'm learning the greens now.
Yeah on the bolded part. Filming your swing is both a blessing and a curse. Sometimes I really get into a groove, and I film my swing to see it in all its glory, and it just looks like a hot mess on camera. Its a real downer, and I start getting too technical trying to fix all faults at once, then can't hit a ball to save my life for the next few weeks.
I haven't had a slap for months. I'm down a 3iron. Mine resides at the bottom of a lake on a short par 4.
Got my first birdie of the season yesterday. Played the course next to the Rockland Psychiatric Center (The Nuthouse 9). Birdied #3. #4, the 230 par 3 uphill is retarded difficult.
