It's also a question of when you play teams. Anybody who doubts that, I am pretty sure most people thought the Jets were finished because they finished with the Colts and Bengals....but the games meant NOTHING to those teams and that's why we won. SD gets Pats at a good time for Jets fans: SD is despearate (see SD Tribune). And next after the bye we get GreenBay, so root for Minny this week to deflate their balloon. Of course, Ravens didn't help this past weekend but you can't win 'em all.
The way I see it, the Jets need to get to 11 wins to be assured of a playoff spot. We are at 5, with what I call 3 "put them in the bank" games left: BUF, DET, CLE. That gets us to 8. That means they need to win 3 more out of NE, MIA, PIT, CIN, HOU, GB, and CHI. The easiest out of those is GB, HOU, CIN and CHI. No matter how you slice and dice it, there is a lot of season left and the Jets need to keep winning.
