I know that we could make it, but honestly at thus point I rather try and get a good pick for the draft. Changes need to be done. Edit: Starting with getting rid of the biggest distraction in NFL history.
Exactly my thoughts. His replacement is definitely not on this team and probably not in the NFL at the moment. Hopefully he can play somewhat better so we can wait at least a year before we draft another QB. We need to fill the LB position.
To be fair, if Stanton was on the team, they will be calling for Stanton right now, that is why Stanton wanted to be here, he knew Sanchez was fragile, and so does the rest of the league.
I feel the same way, but I don't think I want to 6-10. I would much rather go 8-8, 9-7 and have a chance at the playoffs and still have a decent pick if we don't. I'm really pulling for Sanchez to succeed. I don't want to get another QB and go through more growing pains that put us back in the same position as we were in prior.
In 2009 we had the NFL's best running game in 2009 we had a TOP 3 NFL defense this team is nothing like the 2009 team. that team was extremely physical, scary good defensively, and won by limiting how much we threw just 364 times that entire season(as a comparison he has thrown 272 times in 8 games this season). this years team is a finesse team that throws more then it runs, cant run at all, cant stop the run, and who stuggles to ever move the ball.
injury isnt the issue. we lack talent everywhere on the field. especially at the most important positions(QB, Pass Rusher, Oline). 100% healthy we are still a below average team. we are 3-8 in our last 11 and 6-10 in our last 16. thats who we are. a poor team.
if you would prefer 6-10, and are of the mindset that tebow and mcelroy are awful/worse then sanchez, then wouldnt you WANT them to take over at QB?
we have one of the worst offenses in football with below average players at QB, HB, WR, RT, LG and you want to go linebacker?
Sanchez isn't playing average at best. Something happened to him in the second half of last year and he has not been the same QB since. The last 3 games last season were just pitiful, pure David Carr territory and several games this year have joined them. I'm pretty sure at this point that he is toast. He has so many deficits to make up at this point and the biggest one is in his own locker room. I think the moment that probably did the most damage last year was when the Jets had him out wide in the wildcat and the opposing CB jumped at him at the snap and he flinched, His team mates made him wear a scarf in the news conference after the game. That was kind of it. That's not fair but it illustrated a locker room out of control and a bunch of entitled vets running amok at that point. When the QB doesn't really have his team mates support nothing good can come of it.
