I don't think SF would trade the 7th pick for Mo. Maybe they would trade a future 1 for him, but I don't think any team would give up a top 10 pick for him.
I'm sure we'd give him his last shot in TC/Pre-Season before just cutting Geno. Esp. when none of these QB's haven proven anything and they don't have any high expectations.
In the NFL network mock draft last night Michael Irvin picked for us and mocked PLynch to the Jets due to the QB instability Hey this all starts tomorrow night
I've always been concerned about Lynch's intelligence level, he comes off as a bit of a doofus. Now I hear he didn't even score his own age on the Wonderlic? That test is highly overrated, but there's a certain baseline that you need to score above in order to show competence. I'm not sure he'll be able to learn a pro style offense and its complexities.
Totally disagree. He has a very quick release and has been working on it for a while. Even Gruden thinks so - I watched the QB show that he has and he asked him how he has such a quick release for a guy with such long arms. They then showed how fast he gets rid of the ball in drills on the field with Gruden. Check it out. It's something he's been working on for a long time.
Not only do I take him at 20, I trade up for him (as long as the deal is better than what LA and PHI gave up).
When? 1-2-3 years from now? BTW Geno and Petty would be perfect in Gailey's Spread offense too. So would Jeff Driskel who is projected as a 7th round draft pick.
Name: Paxton Lynch Position: QB School: Memphis Height: 6'7" Weight: 244 lbs 40 Time: 4.81 Vertical: 36" Broad: 9'10" Wonderlic: 18 Projected Round: 1st 2015 Stats: 66.8 CMP%, 3,778 YDS, 8.5 Y/A, 28 TDs, 4 INT, 157.5 RAT Name: Jeff Driskel Position: QB School: Louisiana Tech Height: 6'4" Weight: 234 lbs 40 Time: 4.46 Vertical: 32" Broad: 10'2" Wonderlic: 29 Projected Round: 7th 2015 Stats: 62.3 CMP% , 4,026 YDS, 9 Y/A, 27 TDs, 8 INT, 154.1 RAT I wonder where Driskel would be drafted had he played in the Spread for 3-4 years instead of just 1.
Personally, I think we need to draft an OLB and about 4 offensive linemen before we waste a pick on a QB, particularly since Petty is likely to be just as good. However, this is for the record, so I need to say that I think a QB with a porn 'stache is a good thing for the NFL, and would be a good thing for the Jets-- if he's there at 20, snatch that 'stache.
I'll go on record with a hard "No". I don't see the value at 20, especially when we could have our choice of Cooke and Hackenberg in round 2.
GMs like to get their QB early in their tenure. If mac hits on a QB he knows he will be here for a while. Three young QBs on the roster increases his chances of hitting on the most important position.
