i dont get blaming gailey. the line couldnt run or pass block to save their lives. we had alot of open wideouts. we had our chances and missed them. we were in their territory often but threw the ball away, literally. we should have scored 30+ today if marshall didnt throw it away twice and fitz made the plays that where there for him (whcih werent tough throws)
i dont blame gailey, but the CS had a big hand in us losing this game punting to sproles the idiotic challenge costing us a timeout when it was clear from the first look it was out of bounds all the stupid penalties(reflection on coaching)
LOL What? Really? It was a perfect punt. Deep punt. Sproles was pinning at the sideline, boxed in. You really couldn't ask more from a punter on that play. It took a huge group effort by the coverage team to screw it up and they all gave their worst in their effort to tackle him. Quigley had a phenomenal game.
missing our starting qb, starting rb, starting de, #2 & #3 recievers, 1st time coaching staff w 1st time management front office. were doing well guys. just 1 score back, but if it was for marshall lateral (lol) and sproles beasting looking like he was playing against a pop warner team. we prolly woulda won.
Paul Hackett play calling yesterday, wtf was Ivory dressed, if he wasn't playing, wasting a roster spot, how many BS screen passes, 2nd and 10 runs to setup 3rd and 9....
Yeah, dressing Ivory and not playing him, and activating Geno and dressing 3 QBs... I guess we don't value game day roster spots all that much.
Chan actually has high praise for Geno and even said he wanted to draft him but he was fired before he got the chance in Buffalo that year.
I don't think there has been an OC that was universally liked since I have been watching this team. And he is usually the #1 whipping boy, if it is 't the QB. I started in 02 when Hackett was the OC. Has there ever been a liked Jets OC? Just curious
Well you and I have both seen Geno play with our eyes and we both know he is a bottom tier QB. Maybe a new system and a new OC can change that but if they really felt he was that much better than Fitzpatrick he'd probably have been thrust in as soon as he was ready to play.
Doesn't seem like Bowles is in a rush to put any players recovering from injuries back.. As seen with Ivory and Devin smith for a few weeks.. no practice no game seems to be his cup of tea lol.
Pretty much teams that don't have an elite QB blame the OC often. You think GB or NE blames the OC? Lol.
He is an excellent OC and strategist. If he had a Brady, Rodgers, Breese, Luck or Romo with this team we would be erecting him a monument. He is the least of our problem.
I doubt Chan would have even come out of retirement and taken the Jets job if he knew Fitz was going to be his starting QB
Ron Erhardt was a good OC. He was brought in the year that they went 1-15 under Kotite, but even then, he was able to get respectable offensive performance. Hell, Adrian Murrell had more rush yards than both Curtis Martin and Emmett Smith that year...and both Martin and Smith had good years! Erhardt did a good enough job that Parcells kept him on for his tenure there. Unfortunately, he passed away three years ago, so he's no longer an option.
Agree totally. Chan is in a bit of a catch 22 with Fitz now, he has played well enough, he can manage the game, he can give you a decent chance to win, but only if the game is close. Once teams game plan to his weaknesses and or we fall behind substantially it makes it tough on the OC to dial up the game plan with Fitz. I believe Chan will be the key decision maker in making the QB switch and I can't think of a better guy to do it.
