Towards the end of the game on the Powell incompletion, Powell was wide open. He just wasn't even looking in to the QB despite not moving.
not at all. It was one bad game. And we could have still had a chance to win it if it wasn't for Coples.
Even the throw to Cumberland where he was open 8 yards downfield and he had to drop to his knees to make the catch and in typical Cumberland fashion got up and tripped over himself
3 interceptions and about 10 Ridic throws that shouldn't have been made and we are about to go up against this dolphins defense and you still think Fitz should start? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Turnovers and special teams killed us this week. No need to panic. We have a good defense, and an average offense. You can go far in this league with that. The Eagles defense played a good game today. They've been good all year minus the first half of the Falcons game.
we don't have a good QB, we have not had a really good QB pretty much ever, unless or until we land a good QB we are not doing anything unless all the stars align - we just have to keep plugging away and hoping that one day we get lucky (either we have a horrendous season and get the #1 pick (which never seems to happen) or we get lucky (Rodgers, Rothlisburger etc are all recent examples of 1st round QBs that would have been available in the sort of range we are often picking) - cannot get too worked up one way or the other as expectations were low going into the season even before Geno got injured.
I don't put much of this on the OC but I'll say this. Chan better have his offense practicing blocking schemes for this screen plays all week. We couldn't block air on those today.
The playcalling was suspect, particularly early when, down multiple scores, they continued to use checkdowns and running out of the shotgun. But later, when Fitzpatrick made some awful throws and decisions when throwing more than 15 yards, you might understand why the playcalling was what it was. Turnovers combined with some bad plays (allowing punt return TD, Marshall's laughable pitch attempt), this was a TEAM loss. It's not all on Gailey.
of course not - we lost because we couldn't execute on offense. No running game, no Decker - we had opportunities to win this game, but the Jets couldn't finish drives.
What did you people expect? MNF...short week...Eagles getting their asses kicked the first two games...this was a trap game all the way. Full setup. On top of that, this IS Fitzpatrick...He's going to have a game or two like this. My only serious gripe is they should have been in full blown hurry up the entire 4th quarter and not just the last series prior to the interception. I smelled this coming...hoping it didn't but smelled it coming. I fully expect the team to bounce back next week and lay waste to the Miami. 3-1 at the quarter is better than anyone could have expected. I'm not going to lose sleep on this one. Although...now you can see how there is a case for Geno...some of the "ducks" leaving Fitzpatrick's hand were making me sick. That second touchdown...when they showed the slow mo catch by Kerley...I think the ball literally came in sideways...
