7th rd draft picks on IR have no place calling anybody else out, much less calling them out on some dumb radio show. Stupid move. "Telling it like it is" and "putting his name on it" was dumb and he was out of line. Yes Holmes is a moody selfish SOB - still not up to GMac to say shit about it.
Thats a long way to go to say... Cannon= throwing a 30 yard strike that goes no more than 8 feet off the ground. Brady...eff me. They specifically tailor the offense to HIDE his arm. (or lack there of), imho thats a good thing (coaching wise, not as a jets fan)because it also keeps him upright, As far as the WCO, Walsh said, the percentage on Throws over 12 yards was such, that they werent worth using.
At this point in his career Brady has average NFL QB arm strength and generates most of his power from his legs and footwork. Comparing Gmac to Brady in any aspect of QB play is laughable and Gmac would be the first to agree.
when did i ever say brady had a canon? the guy has an arm though, and can toss the football around the field and make all the throws you need. and we arent talking about hitting one or two 50 yard balls, were talkin 23 scores of 50 or more yards, on a year he scored 52 touchdowns. his arm is not an issue at all. brady is the exception that proves the rule basically. just cause there are one or two guys that slip down there, doesnt mean every seventh rounder or udfa is some superstar waiting for his moment to shine.
1. Brady has an average QB arm. That was the whole point. Nobody said Brady had a cannon of an arm. Marino had that cannon of an arm. Elway had that too. But Brady? Hell no. 2. The kinds of long passes Brady threw in his record year are NOT a good indicator of arm strength. Just what did you read? [Given sufficient time, any average QB can make that throw.] 3. Brady was 6th round pick. Jeff Garcia went undrafted. So did great many QBs. Also, NFL is littered with QB busts that has cannon arm, like Jeff George and Ryan Leaf. Judging a QB prospect solely on physical trait is a dangerous approach. That is all I am saying.
McElroy should be getting at least some snaps with the first teamers, I thought the theme of this training camp was competition, competition, competition, shouldn't everyone be getting a fair shot to compete?
That has been my message, but somehow this is lost and all that's remaining is how absurd it is to compare GMac to Brady and Montana et al. [Nobody made such comparison, other than that even the all time greats like these were almost dismissed due to that physical limitations - which shows how dangerous it is to just dismiss a prospect simply because he doesn't have that physical tool.]
Yep, just don't see the harm in giving every guy on the team a shot. I know some people would be concerned with it taking away snaps from Geno and affecting his growth, but a few lost snaps with the first teamers in training camp won't be what makes or breaks the guy, it's not that simple.
