Just reading through this thread and a few things came to mind... 1. The Marrone situation is no way like Kotite. Marrone left what all would consider a good situation (post 12/31 revisionist history not withstanding)...he wasn't fired. He may have left specifically to come here., but in any event, he left for a BBD. Kotite was fired after losing his last 7 games and losing the team in the process. Bills would have gladly proceeded with Marrone in place, and probably would have had expectations of increased success with him going into next year. 2. I see a better analogy between Marrone leaving Buf and Belichek leaving the Jets than I do Marrone & Kotite. But that won't fit the back page narrative of the NY Media 3. The media did not get John Idzik fired. His own inept, embarrassing performance at a press conference did. No way the Jets can go forward with him as the image of the franchise after that. If that presser never happens, Idzik is probably still here.
Per Adam Scheffter's twitter feed, Elliot Wolf has been promoted to director of player personnel for GB so cross him off the list.
Sadly. Kotite accomplished more in the NFL before coming here than Marrone ever did. It is similar because Kotite was viewed by Hess as a blessing that became available from a team Kotite had success with, he was also a local guy with ties in that regard as well. That "blessing" turned into the biggest mistake in NYJ history. This is shaping up to be very similar, only again, Marrone has never been successful in any significant way.

Marrone wasn't even on my mind until a couple days ago. I do my research, so your going to try an belittle me for that? Please. Not going to happen. It is what it is, those are the facts. If you don't like it get a better argument.
Via Adam Schefter Jets have requested permission for GM interviews with Chiefs DPP Chris Ballard and Dolphins director of college scouting Chris Grier.
If you look at what you wrote, you actually are agreeing with me. Just the same, there are no facts, other than those concocted by sportswriters with an agenda, to equate Marrone with Kotite But you can certainly go ahead and continue to think that
"@Cnimbley: Source: If #Jets hire Marrone before hiring a GM Marrone will have a say in who the new GM is."
So now these idiots are listening to Mehta and saying that Kotite was better than Marrone. They deserve to have a losing team.
@KristianRDyer: Per source, #Jets have requested to interview Saints Director of Player Personnel Ryan Pace for open GM position.
