Nice! Post of the year material! I always pay attention to your posts. Always quality stuff.

Not many of the FA's excite me, outside of a select few. Scott, a CB, and I like the two you mentioned, but I really tink we need to replace Moore with a second round pick if it's a tackle with Woody moving to G, or a Guard in the third, leaving Woody at RT.

My biggest worry is Lewis going to Dallas. If that happens, Scott might stay in Baltimore. That is a crucial player move. If we don't get Scott, we have one too many holes to fill. There are few 3-4 ILB's in this draft. Leonhard should be an easy signing.

Oh, and to the people that keep whining about Moore... please. The guy is as good as gone.

    Thank you

There's definitely a handful of young starting quality cornerbacks and safeties in free agency and we could shore up those two spots there and then be in a position to select a DB in the late rounds for depth if necessary..

I'm not a big Ray Lewis to the Jets fan, but I really want Bart Scott to sign here. I hear Miami is a threat as well, but I'm more concerned that he resigns with the Ravens, in which case we would need to resign Barton (I might resign him regardless though) and draft someone like Jasper Brinkley in the 3rd at least. But I recently read that we're high UDFAs Jason Trusnik, who did play last year and made a couple nice plays last year, and preseason standout Kenwin Cummings. So maybe they can be something too being that Rex Ryan has had some luck with undrafted/low drafted LBs I believe (Bart Scott for one).

I agree that drafting a lineman is important especially since Damien Woody and Alan Fancea are in their 30s anyway. Pending free agency and value, I'd go for someone as early as the first round. Woody is supposedly an even better guard, so this would give us versatility when acquiring a lineman as we can look for guards and tackles. Ray Willis is young and has played well in his time starting in Seattle. He's my top choice on this list to start.

Albert Haynesworth to play 3-4de and resign barton and go for leonhard then draft a corner in round one hopefully Vonte Davis and draft the best RT or RG available in round two, thats my dream off season

Imagine Albert Hayneworth playing at his best (as he did for a while during this season) next to Kris Jenkins and Shaun Ellis... Wow. There would be no running against that line. But of course, there are many questions surrounding Haynesworth including injuries, character and commitment. Not to mention the lucrative contract. So that might be too risky of a signing if I'm the GM...

    Great post.

As far as QBs go, the only available ones I consider to even be an option are Fitzpatrick, Leftwich, Orlovsky (yes, that Orlovsky) and Boller or maybe a trade for Bulger.

Not sold on any of those WRs. Not really a whole lot of players there that interest me at all, but I do like Gibril Wilson at S.

I would jizz in my pants if we signed Haynesworth to play DE.

Well worth the risk if you ask me, top front three in the league with out question, and our LB are already pretty good just think they would have to double team both Jenkins and Haynesworth every play leaving our line backers unblocked or one on one

No need to trade for Orlovsky though. He's a free agent. I'd consider him on the list except he has no more experience or ability then Kellen Clemens so there would be no point in signing him IMO.

I would rather draft a WR if anything. Personally, I really like David Clowney and Chansi Stuckey. So I would be fine with no WR.

And I there was a rumor that Bulger might be cut. If that were the case I would be interested.

Yeah my bad I just realized that. Honestly I'm not entirely convinced we need a veteran QB presence at all. As long as we have a decent coaching staff and a couple players who've been around for a few years I think we'll be alright.

Haynesworth will insist on being the highest paid defensive player in the NFL. Hey, it would be a dream pickup, but after the money the Raiders shelled out for a CB, I think Haynesworth will want something like a 5 year deal with 30 mil up front, the rest, maybe another 30 mil garanteed.

Sounds crazy? There may not be a salary cap in 2010. Haynesworth just might get his asking price.

If im not mistaken didn't we get the highest paid OL in history last year along with 3 other huge contracts, with similar cap space whats so out of the question to sign one big name free agent and the rest role players?

Because we still need REAL starters, not just role players at ILB, CB, O line and then depth at RB, O line, etc etc. What happens if he gets hurt? He missed a number of games last year. All the eggs in one basket... it isn't something I would do.

Added another DE to the mix, Anthony Weaver. He's another former Ravens guy and would be worth bringing to improve depth.

Is that official and real or was it just a rumor reported as fact by ESPN?

A good deal of that money needs to be available to resign our current guys. Mangold and Leon first and formost among them. Brick is only a couple years away as well. The Revis deal will start to esclate soon. This is not the best time to go all out. I can see Leonard and maybe Scott, but would not expect all that much more.

Dolphins resigned Crowder and apparently signed Gibirl Wilson... Still some decent players around though. Only 12 hours to go until these guys hit the open market.
