Brady was having his way w/ that D up until the point he got hurt. Did that play a role or was it just a coincidence?
I never really thought Brady was having his way. That game looked like anyone's game from the kickoff right to the end. I actually thought the Giants would lose (although I rooted for them to win), because let's not forget they were a 7-7 team only weeks before and lost to the Redskins to boot. But they peaked and healed at just the right time and on both sides of the ball. I thoroughly enjoyed that game. I also think Belichick and Brady were surprised at the way the Giants were in that game the whole day.
The Jets being 3-4 vs NE in the RR era including 1-0 in playoffs is pretty impressive when you consider they have a Swiss cheese D and a Div II offense.
Good point but I would feel better if it were going in the right direction. We finished 0-2 this year against them, so maybe we were more like Wisconsin Cheddar before but Swiss now.
I don't watch the games? LOL I went to all 16 games this year, ALL 16. That's all of the games they played in case you didn't realize that the first two times I said it. I have season tickets and haven't missed a home game in 4 years, and only 1 game in the last 5 due to a wedding I couldn't get out of. I watch every single road game on TV (if I'm not there). For you to say my analysis shows I don't watch the games is the most asanine thing anyone has ever said on this board, which is saying a lot. YOU are pointing directly to league rankings, whereas I am pointing to what I see in actuality during the games. Explain how that means I don't watch but you do? Anyone who looks at league rankings without putting it in perspective can say "oh, they have a pretty good 3rd down defense", but only those who watch the games closely realize that in fact, they had a very poor 3rd down defense.
I think the 09,10 season and the fact Rex is the brains behind our D has set the bar very high. yeah we are all disappointed with our D in comparison to the last few seasons and i was as pissed as the next man with the little Timmy Tebow and giant big plays etc but lets be realistic to rank in the top five with the slowest linebackers and safeties known to man with zero pass rush was fairly impressive. I Think we can all agree if this team is going to challenge to win it all it has to get a lot better next year on both sides of the ball, i just hope that with all the offencive issues this year we don't draft a WR in the first round as we really do need to nip this D up starting with a pass rushing beast.
Brady took what the Giants gave him throughout most of the game. At one point he did complete 16 straight throws but most of them were for small gains. He averaged 6.7 yards/attempt in the Super Bowl after averaging 8.6 during the regular season. As for the sack by Tuck, who knows... but Brady was 7 for 17 after that happened.
Forget about better than Swiis, if we go less than 8-8 next year we'll have to rename it Limberger... the "stinky" cheese.
I give you a 4/10 on the joke. Execution was poor but the effort was there. I expect better next time.
