We don't even know if we have a power rushing game. Most of our yardage in the rushing game last year came out of the spread with Favre at QB. Down the stretch we showed so much confidence in our power running game we were running empty backfields in 3rd and shorts. That's the reason we moved up to get Greene.

Our OL have played exactly one year together. Give them a couple more and see how they stack up.

What's up everyone I haven't posted here since the beginning of time but have been following the site the past 5 years. This is DEFINITELY the BEST site on the internet to talk NYJ football.

I think the Giants have the better overall team but I feel our defense will be better than the NYG. We do play different systems but at the end of the day its about who gives up more points, accumulates more sacks, TOs, etc. I think losing their former DC Steve Spagnuola to the Rams will hurt more than people realize while we upgraded from Mangina to Ryan. Antonio Pierce's play went down a notch, lost Mitchell to the Bills and there secondary outside of Webster isn't all that great. Kenny Phillips may bust out and have a great season but Aaron Ross has been a disappointment. I think the Giants have the best DLine in football but also feel our LB corps and secondary are hands down better units. They have more depth than us but we have better overall quality in the starting line up.

On offense outside of the RBs I think they crush us because we are way too inexperienced and raw. And there Oline is VERY dominate. Anyone catch last year's Giants vs Ravens game? That game showed they are the best in the NFL as they destroyed the Ravens front 7. It was pretty pathetic actually how they man handled the Ravens D.

Special teams our punting game is horrendous. To quote Ryan we are building an "all weather" team aka smash mouth football and tough D. Field position will play a vital role in trying to win ball games and if we have a shitty punter who can't pooch it inside there own 20 it's a huge negative. Leon is the man and pro bowl returner so we take that from them. I haven't seen Leonard return yet but because Leon won't be there it's an automatic downgrade from last year I highly doubt Leonard is as good as LW. Kicking game is probably on our side but it's nothing to brag about.

At the end of the day until proven otherwise (hopefully soon) Giants>Jets

can't go by those stats. the jets had a cupcake schedule against the giants brutal schedule. giants played way better competition than the jets, by far....

giants have probably the best oline in football.

jets stats are skewed by the bogus cupcake schedule. we will find out just how good the jets oline is this year with rexy's power running game and our not so cupcake schedule!!

Exactly, the stats on that B.S. article are slanted. The Giants line is slightly better than ours.

G-C-G, we probably have the slight advantage.

At tackle, the Giants are much better at both LT and RT.

wrong comparison. we should be comparing our jets against the pats. they're the ones we're going to have to beat to even think about comparing with the giants!

the pats are the afc power house along with pitt and indy. we have enough problems matching up with these teams as it is....

The Giants would of won back-to-back superbowls if either

    a) Osi Uminoria didn't get hurt in the pre-season. Tuck was beat up at the end of the year taking all the double teams

    b) Plax didn't shoot himself

then again, if brady didn't get hurt? they went 18-1 and had to be the fav's going into the season, like they probably are now..

i don't like position to position comparisons, it doesn't make sense. everyone feeds off one another in football, the giants are a better team.

not to mention the schedule for the jets. when you're playing good teams just about every week it's going to wear your team down. yes the pats have the same schedule for the most part, but in the end they are better as well.

Giants have 2 of the BEST LINES IN FOOTBALL we have a good offensive line but we have question marks on the def and def line-------------I wish we had the Giants def line----there backups would start on most other teams.
Biggest difference between the Jets and Gmen lately is the Giants win a Superbowl every 10 years :drunk:
