Their closer is Armando Benitez, nuff said Stats wise they are basically in the middle of the NL when it comes to bullpen stats
Right, I forgot about that even though I've checked his stats out for the "former NY players" thread a couple of times - he's 9/10 in save opportunities, I believe. Well, Lincecum might only pitch 8, so the Mets have to keep it close until the 9th to have any chance. Happy to see Arizona with the big lead, anyway.
This ump has a small strike zone. Mets need to make him throw strikes. They're swinging at pitches out of the SZ and making it easier for him. I know, that's easy for me to say! This guy hides the basll very well and then blows it in there in the high 90's.
Someone should tell Lincecum that from now on he's a righthanded batter. Him hitting with his pitching arm exposed is insane.
I'd guess that their pen and starters have been doing a pretty great job to have the team around .500. This lineup would be subpar in AA.
I have to believe that this kid will show us 1 opportunity today no matter how dominating he looks so far, we just have to hope that we don't squander that opportunity
I always hold mt breath when Wright makes a throw.... I was at the game in SF when Bonds hit 711 but the only reason Bonds sent that game into extra was because of a throwing error by Wright with 2 outs in the 9th and of course Wagner blew it.
Ollie's settled down, but damn, Linecum is just smoking us. I do think we will get an opportunity somewhere. gotta take advantage...
