This guy has got to get off on the right foot. Get him signed and in every camp. No one doubts his physical potential is through the roof, but the idea of a player that doesn't play hard every game will go over like a turd in a punch bowl in NY. Yes, we need a pass rush badly, but alot reviews find him to be too one dimensional a player.

This guy smells like the next Aundray Bruce or Steve Etman more than the next LT but I really hope I am wrong.

I was actually leaning more toward Mike Mamula, but I hope I'm wrong. God, I hope I'm wrong.

If you didn't want Gholsten who would you have taken the was available? Also, what pick do the Jets have in the second round?

I'm of two minds on the pick: if it works out then the Jets got a great pass-rusher and if it doesn't then we get rid of an incompetent front office and coaching staff. It's win-win and all we have to do is watch Gholston to see how we win.

McKelvin. Now, we have Barrett as a starting CB, how do you expect to win in the playoffs with a scrub at corner?

Try not to use the turd in a punch bowl reference it's depressing...thats what warren sapp compared D-rob to when we drafted him.

I still wish we had taken the Saints trade, picked up teh 3rd & McKelvin at #10.

This was an impossible situation for the Jets. They need a pass rush. They need a 3-4 edge rusher. They have the Patriots sitting right behind them needing both of those things to.

I would have been fine with a trade down but I understand why the Jets took Gholston. It may backfire and kill them but that's what happens in a draft where everybody in the top 6 might be great and might bust also.

There is such thing as a 2nd round pick in this draft.

Like the Patriots starting a WR at CB for most of a super bowl season with a couple of mid to late round picks alternating at nickelback?

Cornerbacks are extremely over-rated. If the pass rush is there you can get by with a C grade talent there and if it's not your A guy won't win anything for you.

Why would the Saints want to trade up with us when they can do it with NE and pay the draft pick less money?

NE gave a 5th round pick too to get that deal done and everyone knows we dont have a 5th because of the Jenkins trade.

End of discussion for the naysayers.

Congrats guys!!! Bills season ticket holder here and Ohio State student. Vernons awesome and you guys will love him. Ill be rooting hard for him to become an elite player (just not when playing the Bills) I only wish his stock didn't rise as fast as it did so we could've had a shot at him.

Gholston will be as good as GOLD in a JETS uniform.
