I know it's an unpopular opinion around here, but I still have hope for Gholston as well. I know there are tons of reasons to write him off and he will never be a star worthy of the #6 pick in the draft, but I think coming into his 3rd year, his 2nd in Rex's system, he can have a role on the team as a backup to Ellis in the base D and a DE in passing situations. Just gotta hope we can get SOMETHING out of this guy.
hes gonna need to bulk the hell up for DE IMO...hes listed as 264 he looks like he's 240...and plays like he's 190..... needs to add at least 30 lbs IMO
With as strong as he is, he would easily be able to get by at 280ish. The question is, will he be able to hold his own as a 3-4 end? If he can, I think he might be able to find himself for the first time in the NFL. The position isn't asking too much of him to make plays, so when and if he can just out-muscle and eat up lineman allowing LBers to make plays, I would consider this move somewhat of a success. Anything else would be icing on the cake.... Big fucking "IF", that is....
Looks like he's 240......are you blind? The guy is chisled and bulked up like Dwayne fucking Johnson. He just plays like a nancy. I think 15 lbs would do just fine...
do they regularly test for anabolics in college? didnt think so.....the above pic is noted as "BEFORE"
GODDAMN! How can he suck so bad. All that raw physical ability wasted, because his technical ability is shit. Lets hope he can be a solid DE..
of all the things to legitimately bash gholston for your gonna go with the one thing he actually has going for him?
Because he only knows how to play in a straight line. I don't think the idea of moving across someone has ever entered his mind.
If he gets to 280 he should at least be able to be a serviceable backup for the season. If he continues to blow like my porn star avatar then he's gone after the season and possibly out of the league. So he better have a fire lit under his ass.
