Can we just have him gain about 50 lbs and make him play nose?

He's probably larger than 265 right now, he was 265 two years ago, he's now spent two years in an NFL weight room and is a gym rat.

Here's another article referring to Gholston with a quote from the mighty Revis:

“Pressure can be tough on a guy like that who hasn’t been a starter and who hasn’t performed up to his or the team’s expectations,” Revis said of Gholston. “But Vernon is doing as much as he can to improve every day. We’ll see. This year is another year for him to prove himself as a big-time player.”

Little known fact, but the North American Gym Rat is also known as the Meadow Land Sloth.

As long as this doesn't prevent us from drafting a DE like Odrick (if he is available)

I doubt Gholston has any impact on who the Jets are targeting in this draft.

    That seems more accurate.

I don't think Gholston will be good at 2 gaping at all. He just doesn't have the right skill set for it.

i always thought of him as a DE...he cant turn quickly and tackle on time as a OLB...we saw this because he is really aweful with this awareness

Big, occupies space, ties up defenders, has the strength to push OLineman back and collapse a pocket...what makes him a shitty pass rusher actually makes him sound like a decent DE. Key phrase is "sound like".

The more I think of this, I the more I feel this is just another smokescreen to make teams think we aren't going to be looking at DE early. You can't believe anything you hear the week of the draft...

Can't it be both? Oh...wait...Gholston actually playing. You're right. It's not both.

I'd be ok with this. Hes done it before and did indeed engage in occupying defenders. Could work out. He just has to go out with Mr Jenks now on a fat finding mission

When I was a boy, I believed in UFOs and in Bigfoot. I read a bunch of books about them, and I just figured it would be a matter of time before both were proven to exist.

    That never happened.

When VG was drafted, I figured it was just a matter of time before he started sacking quarterbacks.

    It's never going to happen.

By the time he assessed the situation and reacted, you would have already developed blue balls.
