minor "effects" literally just lasted a few hours. Fell asleep early, and that's about it.

^^^^yep same here stinkyB...i had a very very low "touch" of a fever (basically just enough to let you know it's there) for like 3-4 hours....then it was gone.

Had 7 employees get their second shot yesterday afternoon and everyone of them came to work today with 0 symptoms or issues aside from a sore arm.

Gee, a little coordination among them and they could have shut the office down!

Man..I was so stressed yesterday trying to figure out how to piece it together to make sure we could get done. What a relief this morning.

Yup. Family business that has been around since '46. I'm the 4th generation :D

Can anyone explain the 2 weeks post-shot rule to me? I had my second shot a week ago, but I am not fully vaccinated until next Friday, right? So am I semi-protected right now? I am confused on that part of it. I need to keep wearing a mask too, right?

@The Dark Knight , no problem. As I understand it (and some TGG doctors can weigh in if I am incorrect, since I am an attorney and not an MD)....yes you are correct, one is not considered "fully vaccinated" until 2 weeks after receiving the 2nd shot (of Pfizer or Moderna) or the single JJ shot. However, you are definitely "semi-protected" right now.....research has shown that just the first shot of either Pfizer or Moderna was around 80% effective in reducing transmission of COVID...so if you have had your 2nd shot a week ago, I would guesstimate that you would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 90% protected right now, with the full efficacy of the vaccine (94.1 for Moderna or 95% for Pfizer) taking effect 2 weeks after your 2nd shot.

and in regard to your 2nd question, yes you have to continue wearing a mask until the two weeks are up, and you are officially "fully vaccinated."

Per your question, @The Dark Knight ...from The New England Journal of Medicine:

Using the data from the published study of the Pfizer vaccine, Public Health England determined that vaccine efficacy was 89% for 15-21 days after dose 1 – and before dose 2 on day 21. For days 15-28, or up to the first week after the second dose, protection from the first dose was estimated at 91%

Thank you very much for that, @patleahy! Great information. So I am pretty low risk at the moment, but no need to take any risks for one more week, just to be sure.

@The Dark Knight no problem, Dark Knight. Glad to hear you got your 2nd shot. Did you experience any side effects?

Yeah, not too bad. Tired and some aches and pains, but I would say it went pretty well. :)

My 15 year old twins got their first Pfizer shots yesterday. No side effects whatsoever. Let's hope they are OK after their second shot on June 4th.

Long live Pfizer, long live Bion-Tech

Thanks bickety. Spoke to him today. He had difficulty breathing and he was coughing. But doctors are telling the family that his situation is much better than some other patients and things are stable for now. Keep prayers coming bickety. Much much appreciated my friend.

I got the Pfizer vaccine and my first shot was worse than my second one. Glad I am done as are my wife, in-laws and parents. My father in law was a hermit for along time because he has asthma but about a month after getting his second dose of Moderna he was starting to loosen up more. It feels good to be able to hang out and feel normal again.

Not sure how all of you walked away feeling limited affects with the second shot. I feel like I got hit by a bus this morning. Very flu-like feeling from what I remember it being.
