And he and Sanchez already have established chemistry. I think he sees a good amount of time in 2010.
I like the pick, don't get me wrong...actually, I really like this draft but Losing Leon means we've lost our top 2 players this year and 2 big locker room guys. I think Leon's injury is a non factor because IMO he will heal 100% but I think they figured we did all right w/o him and since we now have a couple of return guys he was expendable. But Leon & a 7th for a 5th? that's a headscratcher.
That's the part that leads me to think his injury might've been a bigger deal than anyone's letting on. The fact that they couldn't send him away for anything better, especially with Tanny's magic, just doesn't feel right you know?
It's Leon for the BEST FULLBACK IN THE DRAFT... he will step in and be the starter next year when T-Rich either moves on or retires... Kid is a beast, immediate ST contributor and Helps the Short Yardage game... Leon was going to be a situational 3rd down back, as we were told by the head-coach. It's not hard to understand at all as far as I'm concerned. love Leon, but his agent and his decision to not come into NY and rehab here, it sealed his fate. I wish him well, but don't think he'll ever be the same. and if he does recover, he's in the AFC West... still a win for the Jets - don't have to face him
Yep, People seem to forget starting a thread with stuff that has already been discussed about people forgetting is forgetful
Even Leon said that he HOPES to be 100% by the start of the season, and he's supposed to be the most optimistic.
Yeah, I'm seeing that & I love the picks but just hard for me to digest the team I love losing 2 of my fav players in one off season. Yeah but from my understanding it was McNight's 1st full season because he gets nicked up
i don't think anybody forgot. and that statement is false. he was an underachiever who was inconsistent, partly because of injury. There was an incredible amount of expectations placed on him from the start. But i think the scouts and FO liked what they saw on film and sanchez probably gave him the thumbs up after they had him on their radar already. I think they felt he had enough upside and would thrive if healthy and in a different situation. Maybe they felt he fell out of carroll's graces in USC. at a round 4 pick, they probably felt it was worth the risk/reward. not gonna disagree with them just yet
with his soft hands and speed, any chance of him playing the slot? i know he's not white, but he looks deadly in the open field.
Not sure if this was posted, but Leon Washington's wife basically listed one of the reason's why we traded her husband, especially after his injury. NJ.com "Washington's wife, Charity, tweeted: "Good Luck paying the 20 people due contracts @ the end of the season. Lol. Thank You Jesus for getting us out of here."
TommyGreen, I know about his agent and the injury. Just saying his wife doesn't realize part of the reason he's gone is we have bigger fish to fry next offseason.
LOL... bitter much??? no one is going to pay them this year... he only gets paid if he survives and entire season, his agent is now someone else's problem. Weather its here or there, he's playing for a contract... and God had nothing to do with it... Alvin Keels did it
