I don't see how, on the road against a pretty good team on Monday night...all of that plays against us.
I can see a scenario where the Jets clean up the secondary issues and the running game/redzone efficiency gets better. If so, the Jets could go on a bit of a run here.
MacCagnan don't strike me as a GM who will fuck around too many years (losing) with a HC he didn't hire.
I don't understand how we were so great in the redzone last year, but so horrific this year. We never, ever run fades to the corner and let our big receivers go up and get it. Last week vs Shittsburgh was the first time I can remember all year and we scored. We keep throwing the ball over the middle of the field in the red zone. Oh, and that stupid middle screen play needs to go. That's a 2nd down play, not a third down play when we have run it at least 7 or 8 times so far
Fitzpatrick threw for 400 yards and 4 tds last time he played Arizona. And hopefully this idiot Bowles has some insight on his former team.
We'd have to have to stage an upset against the Cardinals on MNF. And it would have to be engineered by The Marvel of Mediocre that is Fitz. So I wouldn't bet my money on it....
Yep, one game at a time. Although with Decker going on IR, their season is pretty much done regardless.
Honestly, getting to 500 is exactly what has been plaguing this franchise for decades. Drafting late teens when the best talent is gone. Watching the players we want come off the board just out of reach. We need to rebuild. Can do it with mid round picks and 30 something FAs. That is the formula for 500.
But there really isn't much to catch up to when you have two receivers who are 6 4+. Lob the ball up and have the corner make a play to stop us. New England did it week 3 v Houston on Thursday night inside the 10 and drew 2 PIs and slammed it home with Blount. I don't know why Gailey gets so cute in the redzone. How about that designed qb draw week one vs cincinatti? Wtf was that.
Sorry to rain on everyone's parade here, but this team has NO chance of getting to .500 this season. No way they are good enough. The fact is, this team is severely flawed and I knew even before the season began this team would win about 5 or 6 games at maximum. There's one simple fact that every Jets fan seemingly denies/ignores: The Jets beat ONE winning team per season over the last two seasons. In other words, whenever a decent team shows up to play the Jets are done. This is why winning 10 games last season didn't mean shit. They beat NINE teams with a losing record and actually lost a few times to the Bills and they are a pretty bad team. Certainly not a winning team. So coming into this season and knowing Mac did nothing in the draft that would make this team pop right out of the gate, I knew they were doomed. They needed to learn, in a hurry I might add, HOW to beat winning teams and they didn't. It's that simple. The Darron Lee pick I knew was a joke right from day one. Time to just fess up here. The Jets SUCK or at least the 2016 version of my favorite team is a fraud. We are looking at a 5 or 6 win team at the very most, virtually ZERO chance of challenging the Patsies for the division, and a lottery pick. They suck and that will never change until the GM hires a good HC and starts drafting much better than this year. And before anyone starts calling me negative or something stupid like that, remember I tell you the truth. I DID say this team drafted poorly. I did say they would win about 5 or 6 games before the season even began. I knew this based on the schedule they had against many playoff teams with top rated offenses. I was objective about the situation and I was correct.............
You've obviously missed the point of the thread. No one is saying the Jets will get to .500 or even have a good chance of getting there. The point is simply to look at the season through the lens of getting to .500 being the immediate goal. Looking at the season as over, and a lost cause is what you want to do, fine. Why bother even paying attention then? Move along - go do some yard work or something. We wait too long for the season to arrive to give up so quickly. I'll be hoping we can somehow get to 4-4 or 5-5. If we can do that maybe we have a chance. It's not like it hasn't happened before. Teams figure things out and go from bad to good sometimes.
Who said the Jets were giving up? And what difference does what I post make in the Jets season? What I post has zero effect on the Jets season. Stop trying to blame me for laying out the Jets season in objective terms, not negative, not positive, simply objective. I am merely posting the reasons why this team will never get to .500. The reason is they are simply not good enough and they are coached very poorly. The GM also drafted poorly during the offseason. Those are the reasons why this team will not get to .500............
no one blamed you for anything, said the jets were giving up or said you had any impact on the jets season. derp I explained that you missed the point of the thread and reiterated it. You managed to still miss the point, repeat the same crap, and somehow think I said things I didn't. I'm starting to think maybe you need some help with reading comprehension.
WTF are you talking about? Here is what you posted in your original post. Remember these are your words and not mine..... The goal at this point should be to get back to .500. If we can get to 4-4, the outlook is pretty, pretty good compared to the shit hole we're looking through today. Yea I got my pom poms on. I am merely cautioning everyone in this thread that there's a FAT CHANCE that we'll EVER get to 4-4. So what is it that you were looking for in an answer?? Oh I pray to the NYJ gods that we win 3 straight and get to 4-4. I'll also put on my cheerleaders dress just to show you that I am wonderfully sold out as you are?! Get over yourself. There is no pretty, pretty good outlook. The Jets suck in 2016 and you'd better get used to it...........
Here is my crazy prediction. Petty will be under center in 2 weeks unless Fitz wins convincingly Monday. That of course, will do very little to the future performance unless our overall defensive game plan for four quarters improves dramatically, and the CS gets their head out their ass.
