He had a great game Returning Against SD... we do need to find a way to get him the ball more i just wish he could add a lil more weight then they probably would have him get more touches... he is a shifty runner Westbrook/Sproles/Maurice Drew we just gotta find a way to utilize him

Jets must stop looking at his size and start looking at other "3rd down backs" that were deemed to small to be everydown backs...until they left their teams and found stardom elsewhere....Priest Holmes (coddled in Baltimore, unleashed in Kansas City), Charlie Garner (protected in Philadelphia, outstanding in Oakland).

No telling whether Washington can withstand the punishment of a starter's load--he could be a Westbrook--who has trouble staying on the field, but it's a worth a try. He consistently turns a TJ 2-yard run into a 4 yard run.

Guy is so electric it sucks though that our best playmaker is a 5'8 running back.

So what? Jones-Drew is the Jags best playmaker...

I'm not saying Leon can be a Jones-Drew...But he deserves more carries since he can bust it open at any time...

We could cut the WR screen plays down from 10 to... lets say....zero! and that would open up more opportunities for a Washington screen pass.

He already weights as much as Westbrook, and nobody ever complains about him. He outweighs Sproles by quite a bit, but somehow San Diego has no qualms involving him on offense---and they have freaking LT instead of TJ too.

I can agree with this. I think Leon Washington has a ton of talent, but it is not being utilized properly. I love the guy as a player. He has speed and has often showed that he is plenty capable of getting the job done when he is needed.

I really think Leon is the reason they are installing hybrid blocking schemes on tthe O-line this year. LW would be a beast behind a zone blocking scheme, he's not the Thomas Jones type that takes to holes that are supposed to be there. Leon has the quickness and speed and directional change ability to pick and choose the holes as they appear.

I'm not a fan of Thomas Jones' skillset, but he is what he is... a Curtis Martin clone. And I wouldn't be at all disappointed in seeing Leon monopolize the touches behind a zone blocking line.

I think the Jets coaches are scared shitless to put him in the backfield thinking the more he is lined up in the backfield the more chance Favre has of getting killed. Leon is great in the open field but he doesn't seem to have improved his blocking at all.

This is a great point. He seems like a pretty clutch player when the team needs a big play.

I think he was winded from returning so many kickoffs Monday night.
