I wonder what the offers were. I really think he would have done great in Minnesota. He plays well indoors and Minny is a decent team. I could have rooted for him there too. Chad was my favorite jet since Chrebet retired. It's gonna be tough seeing him in a Dolphag uni.

I agree with Dorrow simply because I caould not possibly care less where Chad plays. Or if he doesnt play at all. He's not our QB anymore. We cut him and he signed somewhere else. Hes allowed to get himself a job no matter how much money he might have made with the Jets. I stopped the childish practice of getting attached to players on my favorite team about 20 years ago when I was a teenager. He's the Dolphin QB. Lets go knock him on his ass as many times as we can and beat them twice a year. Lets beat everyone.

looks like we have a winner in the "Dumbest post of the week" sweepstakes...congrats.

The Jets aren't being disloyal to Penny....he was given plenty of time to show he's worthy of the starting QB position....and he didn't. If anything i applaud the Jets for being dilligent in their efforts to improve the team.

I wish the Chad lovers on this forum would quit drinking the "Pennington kool-aid"....it's beyond annoying....the guy stinks.....he's Miami's goat now....deal with it.

Yea same here (not the gas part thou). I just feel for the guy that was booted in the ass without notice. Come on, the guy's in Cleveland for gawds sake getting ready to play and he's damn near escorted out by security.

But it was time, I realize that. I loved Chad but was exhasperated with him. Even giving his heart and soul to the JETS, it wasn't enough...here. He might just fit well in Miami and I wish him the best. I never, ever once thought what's his name Clemens is the answer. Now Ratliff, totally another story. I've got my eyeballs trained on this kid.

And for the moment, I'm totally enjoying the attention the JETS have been starving for in years. It boils my ass to be treated as the Giant's annoying little brother. /rant

i think a lot of fans on this board echo the same sentiment, PF4....i know i do. Sometimes, I come across a little more "abrasive" than i should be...but that's because I'm sick of all the sympathy for Chad....he didn't stay that long on the FA market...the guy isn't going hungry by any means. And really, i don't care how he does in Miami...as long as we kick his ass twice a year :)

I agree with your perception on Ratliff....the kid is showing some excellent poise and that he can make the throws when called upon. IMO, he's beating Clemens thus far, for the #2 QB position...and i hope he gets it.

The Giants will come back to earth this season. One of my best friends is a die-hard Giants fan...and i've been "hearing" it ever since Burress made the winning catch in the Super Bowl.....I keep telling him that the "cinderella-esqe" (is that a word?) mystique surrounding the Giants has dissapated.....and that it's the Jets' turn this year to shine.

Theres a difference in love and respect. I respected Chad and still. I never thought he was "the one" though.

People on this forum seem to WIGGLE THEIR TAILS if Testaverde says something about his ex-team. But they would bash Chad if he did'nt really say a word after being 'dumped'. Did we forget that Testaverde played his last yr in New England? That after coming out of retirement. Yet Chad is the one who should be bashed because he only took us to 3 playoffs. I mean, how many teams are there in the league that went to 3 playoffs in the last 6 yrs? Just a handful of them actually.

Everyone knows he has a bad arm, yet he completed almost 70% of his passes. Teams still could'nt defend him when defending with in 10 yards cuz if they did, he would go over the top every now and then and try to burn them. He has actually done that a few times but we fail to come to an agreement on that. He was'nt Joe Namath, Steve Young, Montana, Manning or a Brady but he played very decent football with as little as he had on the team.

Now that Favre is here, Im glad. Im also glad Chad is starting with A team. Does'nt matter who it is. It was a win win situation for both sides. Get over it. Its done. Can't change anything. Move on. Forget about Chad now and lets hope Favre can live upto the expectations. He threw 2 ints in 2 hrs yesterday. I hope it just an initial hiccup. He's been known for that for his entire career however.

you shouldn't feel put in your place - you should feel like an idiot.

clearly, the post was directed at those who were complaining that people were bashing Chad, not those who were doing the bashing. how you could confuse the two, or think that is the same, is beyond me. but then I am never surprised by the lack of comprehension exhibited by some here.
I agree, it is awesome when somebody clearly has no idea what they are talking about.

FYI - personal insults usually = someone covering up their own stupidity. I can have a debate without resulting to personal insults. It might be a valuable skill for you to pick up sometime down the road. Good luck bro.

How was Pennington a "me first" player??? You're pulling shit out of your ass in a lame attempt to justify giving Chad a hard time for signing with the the dolphins. Again, since it was the Jets who cut him, Chad had the right to sign with whatever team he wanted. They showed no loyalty to him in releasing him (and again, I am THRILLED that they did release him because it was the right thing to do for the team), so he had no obligation to show loyalty to the jets or their fans when he was choosing what team to sign with. In other words, what I'm saying is, you Chad haters want it both ways. You want to be able to trash him and get him off the team but then call him a "traitor" (or what have you) for signing with a division rival. Once you betray your allegiance to him, he can betray his allegiance to you. It is a very simple concept. To dispute it is to do great damage to the cherished principles of logic. I want to reiterate again that I am thrilled that the Jets cut Chad and traded for Brett Favre. They made a SIGNIFICANT upgrade at the most important position on the field, which happened to also be one of the weakest and most uncertain positions on the Jets. However, it is patently absurd to suggest that Chad has done some great disservice to the Jets or their fans by signing with the Dolphins. We cut him and terminated his contract. At that point, he had NO OBLIGATION to look out for the Jets anymore because obviously, by FIRING HIM, they gave up on their obligation to look out for him. There's really not much more to say.

Anyone bashing Pennington for signing with the Dolphins AFTER WE CUT HIM, needs to have this repeated to them 150 times a day. Unless you were also bashing Testevarde for signing with New England, you have no legitimate reason to be bashing Pennington for Signing with the dolphins. If you do, you are a hypocrite and probably too dumb to even realize it. CASE CLOSED.

And for the record, I wasn't saying that "those of you who still support the Jets because they dumped Chad are clueless", in fact, I SUPPORT the Jets for cutting Chad. It was the right thing to do. We brought in a much better quarterback. What I WAS saying was that the people who were bashing Chad for signing with the Dolphins, AFTER WE CUT HIM, were clueless. Big difference.

Its nice when the knowlegable half of the message boards actually speaks up. The vocal and ignorant minority is becoming depressing.

The title of this thread should be: "Get Off Chad's Dick"

He signed with a division rival...kill him.

Slimjim? I have to admit that it cuts me deep that you're attacking me here. You are a poster I respect very much... But I think you've misinterpreted my posts!

1000% ! agree with you that Chad could sign with any team he wanted to. I don't think I ever said anything against that. Hey, I am happy that Chad signed with the 'Fins! He gets to start with an NFL team, and we Jets fans all get to see if the Jets would have been better without him, if the Jets will be a better team with a great QB like Brett, etc. etc. I think Gholston will sack his ass in Game 1 and put him out of his misery forever, but if Chad can somehow defeat the Jets in Week One (or Week 16), I will salute him.

Anyhow, regarding Chad being a "me first" player? Check the reports from the last year or so. Check out how Chad was the guy who leaked to the media that the Jets were pursuing Brett Favre... This is not my invention, it's the truth, and this kind of statement is WAY beyond the Jets' media policy. This was not "team first," it was "Chad first."

And see how Chad believed he deserve the Jets starting QB position, and started to pull stuff to make it so! He asked the Jets for his release last year! Of course, this was his right/privilege. But please don't tell me this makes him a paragon of loyalty when it comes to the NY Jets football team. Chad wanted OUT!

I am so much looking forward to this upcoming season. I posted so many messages here about how The Jets were going nowhere in 2008 because they didn't have a true playmaker, and how the team was leaderless, etc. Now? IMHO, they solved all their problems with one signing.

My apologies to all Chad fans for "bashing Chad" in this forum after I promised that I would stop, but the gauntlet was thrown...

Dude, what the hell are you talking about??? You know I always try to ignore your posts cuz most of the time, you have the most dumbest opinions ever. Chad leaked the Favre issue??? What the F**k are you talking about? Post up a link that actually has some credibility and then talk about it. I have'nt read such article yet.

How was Chad "THE GUY" to leak out the Jets were pursuing Favre? Jets got the permission to talk to Favre and that was a news, not a spy report or an insider info. Infact, Chad was the one who wanted this whole situation to be sorted out ASAP. Chad was promised that he'll start if he beats out KC. Would'nt he want the issue to solved asap? Not once he said "I don't want Favre on this team".

That was a pretty pathetic way of bashing, BOSKO!!!!
