So here's the top 10 QB's in terms of completion percent for Week 1 (so far) of the NFL season. 1. Geno Smith - 82.1 2. RG3 - 78.4 3. EJ Manuel - 72. 7 4. Matt Ryan - 72.1 5. Derek Anderson - 70.6 6. Aaron Rodgers - 69.7 7. Colin Kaepernick - 69.6 8. Austin Davis - 69.5 9. Jay Cutler - 69.4 10.Drew Bress - 69.0 It's only Week 1 and it was only against the Raiders, but for one week at least I get to look smart. Someone asked me what my definition of elite was. Top 5? Top 3? I'm pretty sure I'm safe at #1. If he throws for 57% next week against the Packers, I'll man up, come back and eat some crow. I really doubt that will be needed though.
geno needs to get better in ball protection he would have had a fantasy football qb day if he didnt had the fumbles and Int ( even tho the int wasnt his fault)
I am pretty sure we settled on those 2 things going hand in hand. You don't see a whole lot of accurate passers thowing in the 55% range. You also don't see guys who are inaccurate throwing in the 80's. Manning last year did it 3 times. Brees did it twice. Only the best of the best in the NFL can even do it once per season. In Sanchez's 63 games he played with us he never did it once. Eli Manning has done it ONCE in his entire career and has 2 Super Bowl rings. To throw for 80+% passing in an NFL game where you atleast attempted 25 passes is just incredibly difficult no matter how you slice it. That being said I will admit this is just the Raiders and the Raiders pass defense is somewhere in the 22nd - 24th range. The good news is that most of the games on our schedule involve pass defenses as bad as the Raiders. I wouldn't be shocked at all if we see Geno post 70+ percent next week against the Pack's swiss cheese defense (get what I did there.)
imo this will sound like a homer i know but i honestly belive that Geno Smith is a better prospect then RG3.
They're related. They aren't the same thing. Completion percentage does not equal accuracy no matter what you've "settled on". Inaccurate passes are often completions and accurate passes are often not. There is also the matter of difficulty, a screen pass is obviously a much easier to completion than a deep post unless you're Mark Sanchez.
Just got home and I can't believe this is happening again. Threw some beautiful balls but did he almost throw 5 picks? From where we were sitting it looked like he could have had at least 5. I'll reserve judgment until I watch the DVR tomorrow nite, but there were quite a few dropped INTs tonite. That's not elite. It's bedtime, can't even discuss. _
63 completion % through the first three games. Turnovers obviously suck, but this is at least a positive.
What a joke this thread is.. Guy is a buffoon. Still stares down receivers, and make me nervous every time he releases the ball and tonight was a prime example..
