How soon we forget that this year was supposed to be so throw away / rebuilding year anyway. He should start every game till end of the year. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
This is where I stand as well. It is a rebuilding year, but everyone sees that playoffs in grasp and all of a sudden we are supposed to be an automatic playoff team. The second we did not make a move for Gordon when he was being shopped proved that this was going to be a rebuilding year. We will have some decent cap space this offseason and hopefully Idzik uses it wisely. IMHO, 2014 and 2015 is where our eyes should be.
The only people who think this is a rebuilding year are fans and media, the players and coaches on the team do not.
All they have to do is get to the dance and then anything can happen. I keep telling you folks that. All you have to do is watch BOTH of the Giants recent SB runs...Jesus. I hate giving up...it pisses me off...especially when I see it in my coaching staff. But to keep trotting "Turnover Smith" out there with no thought of change is beyond me. I'm not saying it would be so...I'm not disagreeing that we have issues...but Jesus F'n Christ....TRY!!!!!
Yeah, so he can further show us why it was a wasted draft pick and that we need to go into another direction. That's fine by me.
You guys make no sense, what is garbage time? Geno played in your garbage time last week and sucked but you look the other way. If Simms would have came in the game in the 4th quarter last week and thrown 2 TDs you would have said it didn't count since it was garbage time. It seems your opinion doesn't count either.
+1. It makes too much sense to give Simms a start. But of course, Rex isn't even giving it thought and designates Geno the starter as he has been playing real shitty football for weeks now.
He is a failed 2nd round pick that is on pace for 11TD and 33 INT -- why is everyone so loyal to this guy? Why do people think watching him implode for 5 more weeks is good for anyone?
Only the Jets would still have a guy with those stats starting. I would take any starting QB in the NFL over him. I thought Sanchez stats were bad last year when he was in last place for QBs. Marks play looked good compared to Smith.
Sanchez was awful last year but last year they had everyone hurt, tebow, a weaker running game, and the worst OC in the NFL. No one was going to succeed last year. Geno is playing so poorly you have to wonder who is forcing Geno to start. At this point I just feel bad for him. He is going to be a washout after one season because anyone that thinks he can recover from this season is delusional. Say he improves in year two..even marginal improvement still has him in the sucking area...he would need to flip the switch to epic levels.
Jets, Jets The General Manager has to find out if he has a Qb. It is not Rex's call. Don't believe this illusion of contention. We will all have to wait for the next few years to be a legit team. Enjoy the games while we all find out about Geno and try like Idzik to figure out if he would be much better with more weapons.
I just don't know what they are looking for in Geno. He hasn't shown anything, has no spark, looks depressed on the field, has no fire, no nothing. AT least you need to see if Simms has the potential to start or be a legit NFL backup QB. Smith is on his way to 3rd string/cut status.
Funny. I believe people were lauding him for his calm demeanor after the ATL game where he led that comeback. Winning changes every perception of a guy. I agree that his play has been terrible but to question his will, confidence, fire or whether the team is behind him is completely unfair. We have no idea what happens on the locker room and questioning things behind the scenes is silly.
I was at the game last week and what you don't see on tv that you see in person is how disengaged geno is. he drags his feet onto the field, hangs his head, is the last guy in the huddle. stands by himself during tv timeouts. dude has no fire in him.
New NFL Power Rankings: RANK 21 5-6 JETS (-6 spots) You have to feel for the Jets' defense. Send those guys a plate of deviled eggs or something. How in the world is this team supposed to compete for the wild card when the offense gains 220 total yards, goes 1 of 12 on third-down conversions and Geno Smith simply throws the ball up for grabs? Where the heck is Ken O'Brien? Have they been reading the boards or do they just feel the same way that we do? Link http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...lts-tumble?campaign=Facebook_writers_harrison
having watched that defense NOT pressure the QB the last two weeks (with the DL reading it's press clippings instead of performing) and allowing multiple 40 plus pass receptions in which our secondary doesn't seem to have a f-ing clue where the ball is (yeah you Cromartie and Ed Reed), I'm not so certain that they deserve all that applause and that the offense is 100 percent to blame as this moronic appraisal seems to suggest
