I don't know where I got the 6-10 from, probably looking at the 2015 column not 2014, but they were eliminated the week before: http://www.foxsports.com/florida/st...s-playoff-elimination-comeback-victory-122114 "By Jameson OliveFOX Sports Florida Dec 21, 2014 at 5:10p ET MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- A victory by the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier in the day may have ended the Miami Dolphins playoff hopes this season, but a chance at a winning record remains in play after an exciting 37-35 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at Sun Life Stadium." The fact is, he put up points against a horrible pass defense that averaged 32 points per game allowed and still needed to win it in the 4th quarter of a meaningless game. Ron
Fair, but keep in mind the weapons he had to pass to and the team he had around him was not as good as the one has now. Plus better OC and two more years of experience/maturity (still a young man). Don't hate me for being optimistic. It would be so much better for all of us if this trip on the Geno-coaster worked out. He has the ability to be a starter in this league. All of his previous transgressions came from a 22-23 year old kid, who wasn't a dick at that age? I know I was.
He stares down receivers because he doesn't have the arm strength to make throws without leaning into them. He has the worst arm of any QB I've ever seen in the NFL. Even post-injury Pennington looked like prime Elway compares to Fitz's arm.
I guess most people watched his play to determine he sucked. The fact the team won 8 games had not much to do with Geno, actually I should say with a more competent QB they would have likely won more. 55.8% completions, 190 YPG, 12 TDs to go with 21 INTs is not a success. And no, only the Genobots consider his game against Miami success, when it is the last game of the season where you have only won 4 games it is only a win, not success.
Honestly the only good thing coming away from this is Geno finally being removed from the equation by the end of the year......
Couldn't agree more. We need to get this out of the way so that the next offseason can be focused on Petty, Hackenberg, and whatever FA or drafted QB is brought in to compete for the job.
They both suck...... but sadly at this point the potential for an alternative is really the only thing worth watching.
I can spin your story the other way too. If we had a competent QB last year we would have been in the playoffs, period end of story. I'm not a Geno fan but your comments above do not wash. You can not say that 8 games had very little to do with Geno but imply that winning last year had a lot to do with Fitz. That is pure BS. Fitz is dreadful and proven so. Geno has not had nearly the playing time to prove much of anything over the last 2 years. At this point, the devil you don't know is better that the shit storm we have. Neither will survive next year if we know what is good for us
I fixed the statement for you. Except the Fitz nuthuggers will use that argument against Geno, but it doesn't count for Fitz. It amazes me how much of this fanbase is rooting right now for Geno to fail. I have been through a 1-15 season and enough 4-12 seasons to not want to go through that regardless of the draft pick status. Fact is the best thing that could happen is Geno has actually improved, he is signed and then competes with Petty next year.
I think it's hilarious that you both throw Fitz into this when I didn't bring him up or even allude to him. LAJet, you even claim that I implied last years wins had to do with Fitz when I only brought up 2013 and 1 game in 2014. Sec 336 you didn't fix my post, you changed it to something completely different which had nothing to do with what I was talking about. I didn't discuss last season because I was talking about Geno and he didn't play last year. Maybe you both can try again and address what I posted.
He'll do his usual routine: play well enough with flashes of something special, only to make boneheaded mistakes at the absolute worst moments. He'll keep the game close because the Ravens aren't really that good, but he'll find a way to pull defeat from the jaws of victory.
