The second article has everything you just posted. I'm just posting an article I read with the headline they wrote lol
http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/20..._they_want_to_perceive_i_could_care_less.html And Adams does not mind one bit if people regard that as a mismatch. He said he cannot even understand why most observers would feel this way. “I can’t understand,” Adams said. “Why would I be able to understand? I couldn’t tell you what they perceive. Let them see what they want to perceive. I could care less. I could care less about what they think. People in this locker room, my brothers who I ride for every Sunday, that’s all I care about. And I’m going to make sure I handle my business for them. They can count us out.” By “they,” Adams obviously meant people who doubt the Jets’ corners. Adams remains confident in his secondary’s potential, even amid widespread uncertainty about it. “That’s fine,” he said. “I appreciate that. I use that as my motivation. They can say what they want. But at the end of the day, we’re going to handle our business. They can say what they want about who we’ve got out there, and about the corners that are out there. But I could really care less, because I know what our capabilities are. Starting to think Rex has been working the "Fuck the Media. Fuck what they think" mentality to the locker room to try and rally them from this 1-5 start with a cornerback now not giving a shit about what perception is to others.
One thing you see about the media is that they "play the trend". They go all the way to the extreme depending on the wind
So you think Manish made up Geno's quote? What exactly was overblown about missing a meeting the eve of a game or the half-azzed 'explanation' afterward?
Geno's frustration with the media is no different then a good chunk of Jets fans frustration with the media. - He has 2 of the worst 7 guards in the league. - He has ONE legit NFL receiver, who has been injured half the year. - He has a beast rookie TE, that Marty in week 6 finally decided should be the starter and then became the 1st Jet TE in 20 years to catch 10 balls in a game. - He has an offensive coordinator that insists on splitting the load between Ivory and Chris Johnson, when it is clear that Ivory is WAY better. - He has had to face Rodgers, Cutler, Stafford, Rivers, and Manning 5 weeks in a row. Yet the blame for the team losing week after week has been all on him. Honestly he was the only reason the Jets were even in the game yesterday. His RB's accounted for 20 yards on 13 rushes. The team dropped 5 passes. He threw the ball away when needed. He took sacks and held the ball when he rushers were instantly right in his face. He found his big targets for 2 TD's. What the hell else could people possibly want him to do.
Geno is a bad QB and is wrong to call out the media like that but lets be honest. The media loves creating drama whether its there or isnt. Look at the Victor Cruz injury today, explains everything you need to know about them. They made it look like that guy was cheering Cruz's injury when he clearly wasn't.
"Smith, the Jets' quarterback, was asked during a conference call with Patriots reporters Monday how "topsy-turvy" his season seems to appear from afar. The Jets play at the Patriots Thursday night. What say Geno? "For me, it hasn’t been," Smith said"
QB's don't win games. Teams do. Drew Brees is having a hard time this year beating bad teams like the Bucs and Vikings. Matt Ryan is on a 3 game losing streak. The Bills are 3-3 with Kyle Orton and EJ Manuel. Nick Foles has been completely average this year but since the Eagles have something crazy like 7 defensive and special teams TD's they are 4-1. Like I said Geno does deserve some blame, no doubt. There have been atleast 4 interceptions this year that were just awful, the worst offender being the pick 6 against the Bears, but the media acting like he has thrown away 5 wins this season is a joke. The Bears game is all on him. Otherwise I could point to atleast 1 unit on the team that played way worse then he did in every other lose, easily.
