What I dont get about this whole situation is by every metric this guy is worse than last year. Yet people still want to defend him, and say we need to let him develop. Come on the guy is a limited skillset qb with terrible field awareness and intelligence. Decent arm. But come on enough is enough. IF anyone watched college football you would have been as pissed off as I was that we selected him.

But he may already have elite accuracy.

Don't mistake my noticing you're a piece of shit as defending Geno Smith.

I don't have an issue that we selected him, especially considering where in the draft we selected him. My issue is only with the fact he's been treated like he was a top 10 pick.

Fair to say, and by and large I would say your opinion is the popular one right now. But I saw him two times live when he played for the mountaineers, and I just knew he would never be a good pro.

My issue in picking him effectively blocked us from taking a much better prospect this year.

In a vacuum, taking him at 39 was probably good value.

Treating him like he's a franchise QB because he threw for 200 yards a game his last 4 games but didn't turn it over was a smokescreen that basically sunk us with him for another 2 years.

To be honest, he's been treated pretty much the same as Jimmy Clausen - well cept Jimmy never showed any improvement to get them away from that #1 overall pick that became Cam Newton.

Might happen this season with Mariota with us.

If that were even remotely true, we'd have Teddy Bridgewater right now.

In the second round he really doesn't have to be. All I expected was for him to come in and compete not be handed the keys to the Jets, so to speak.

The thing is that it shouldn't have blocked us at all. Jimmy Clauson didn't prevent Carolina from taking Cam the next year.

Of course it SHOULDN'T have, but it would have been Idzik directly indicting himself for a perceived failed pick.

Never should have drafted a QB out of that weak 2013 class, not considering what was on the horizon for the 2014 QBs.

Geno not shitting the bed the last 4 weeks made it ok for Idzik NOT to draft Bridgewater.

Then why draft him that high???? Second round picks aren't peanuts! I know the Jets have not had a good history with 2s though....

I don't think the Jets thought Bridgewater was the BPA @ 18. I obviously believe he was the BPA @ 18, some part of me wanted the Jets to select him but I knew they wouldn't. I guess for the Jets, it wasn't as clear cut as Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers.

What do the Jets know about QBs anyway ... Bridgewater could have saved this franchise or at least gave us hope.
