Geno has been a 20 to 20 QB this year. And FGs do not get it done. He is not better. Therefore he is worse. Because you have to get better. Like Parcells said, you have to put it in the end zone. That is the measure of a QB. He has had the ball late in a lot of close games this year and not gotten it done. last year he did get it done several times.
YES, YES, and YES. There is a reason 31 other teams passed on him in the 1st round and he fell to the Jets.
Honest question for Jets fans. Why the hell does this guy play (comparatively/relative to the norm) so well against the Patriots? Is it just the emotional hype? It's just hard to believe that a guy who looked so capable two weeks ago this Thursday could throw 3 INTs in the first quarter of his next game.
I think because he wants to be a Patriot once Brady retires. He wants to impress Belichick. In all seriousness, everyone on the Jets wants to come out and play hard against the Patriots. No other team plays you harder in my opinion.
Who knows. The only thing I can think of is that the Jets know the Patriots well and maybe that carries over from the coaching to him. I have no idea. Maybe its the short week (he's played vs NE on Thurs night twice)
The only problem I have they haven't gotten him weapons from day 1. When you draft any QB you have to give him something to work with.
Nothing different about the game plan or the types of throws he was asked to make? Was that game (week ago Thursday) his best as a pro? I'm just dumbfounded, he looked like he could play.
he's had several games like that, where you think he might be able to turn a corner. but for every game like that, there is at least 1 horrific turnover filled game. part of the Jets problem is falling behind early. courtesy of lack of secondary talent, it's been a common occurrence. once down, they fall out of the running game, and Geno tries to do more than he is currently capable of. that's when things can snowball. against Buffalo tho, i'm a little dumbfounded by just how bad he played as well. it was the start of the game, and Buffalo wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary. he just didn't have it at all.
Yeah HS football team, when I first saw it - it was very weird indeed. Another one of BB's double agents? He's even going back to HS players to try and screw us.
MM called 8 of the first 11 plays as passing, of which Geno threw 3 INTs, only 2 to our team, doesn't make sense for our coaches to place a "shaky" young QB in this position, we ran the ball for 218 yards the previous week, why not run more at start to let the kid build confidence?? Now I never want to see Geno take another snap for the Jets!!
Idk no longer supports his guy by saying he isnt sure Geno is a franchise QB. Well it took him long enough. Should of left him crying in his chair during draft day.
He's like that all the time too. He'll play lights out one game and shit the bed the next. There have been games (GB comes to mind) where's he's lights out in one half and completely useless the next. Personally, I think the NFL game is too big for him and everything has to be perfect for him. He looked great against NE because we ran the shit out of the ball which opened up the passing lanes.
