Phil Simms?!? Lol, the guy is not an impartial observer and was TOTALLY invested in the Jets NOT drafting QB this year.

You have to do better than that. I mean YOU don't honestly believe Geno is better than EVERY QB this year--you can't. I understand your thoughts on Boyd, but better than every QB this year? That's just homerism times 2-Jets and WVU.

As long as we're quoting experts for hyperbole, Charlie Casserly said Manuel--who went 30 picks before Geno--would have been the 8th best QB this year.

I'm sure the truth is somewhere in the middle but seriously, if we hadn't drafted Geno last year (which was an AWFUL class) we could have gotten one of the top guys this year in a very strong class.

We couldn't let Sanchez start another year people forget how bad he was.. we drafted Geno at what was great value and we have to deal with that. I saw Manuel twice and I think the Bills are crazy, that was a terrible pick.

As for this year. I would've took Bortles or Johnny if given the opportunity those 2 are the only 2 I believe would be better.. I liked Carr and Jimmy in the second but might as well give Geno another year with actual NfL receivers before taking them. I still think we should've took AJ, Aaron, Mett, or Fales. Boyd is a good fit to be just what he is 3rd string.

Teddy and Carr are better QBs than Geno, smarter, better anticipation, quicker release and more accurate. I also would have taken Johnny and Bortles. I can't get a read on JG, not sure if he's going to be a player. I agree with you, I would have taken McCarron, Mett and Murray in the 5th and Fales in the sixth.

    We'll see.

If it wasn't your old coach who picked him, I think even you would agree that taking Manuel that high was crazy. I don't think the guy has ever played a full season in either College or NFL.

You may be right about the rest, but Teddy is definitely not a better QB than Geno. Johnny Football has a lot of talent, but I think he'll screw it up because he doesn't have the maturity to handle everything that will be thrown at him.

I don't think Marrone is a good judge of talent. No QB last year should have gone round 1.

You're nuts if you think Geno is better than Teddy. The only thing Geno has over Teddy is a stronger arm. Every other aspect of Teddy's game is far far superior.

    Every single aspect.

I would like to make one thing clear...while I do love Geno and technically I am a Geno homer, even I know he has quite a bit to work on before he'll be a really good NFL QB.

The two things I think he needs to work on the most (and these were things he did in college too) are...

    1) Starring down his WRs. I think a lot of his INTs came from this last year.
    2) Holding onto the ball too long waiting for a WR to get open. Even he admits he is guilty of this.

He got away with #2 a lot in college and he did extend plays with his feet and eventually found someone open, but he can't do that now in the NFL. If he can fix those two things, with his work ethic, I think he can be a very good QB.
