'Kiss of Death', it's in my top 100. I'll have to think how many times I've used the wheelchair scene about the Jets, haha. You don't know what you're missing.

It's probably in here, but I'm a lazy asshole.

'Super Dark Times'. The last ten minutes were so chilling to me. Teenagers and a death cover up, paranoia, bicycles, insomnia, and Christmas lights, how can you lose.

Watching "The Tomorrow War" now. Excellent movie so far. Reminds me of Battle Los Angeles.

EDIT: Just finished the movie and folks, it was really really good. Just the right amount of CGI, good plot, credible acting by all involved. 2hrs and 18mins of a good movie. Amazon may have just entered the serious movie making arena as this one could easily have been on the big screen.

In short: See the Damn Movie!!!

I’m about 40 minutes in and my opinion it’s the type of terrible movie that compels you to continue watching just to see how far they will go in the stupidity.

good comparison the Battlefield Los Angeles which is the way to do this type of movie well.

I am not a big horror guy, but 28 Days Later was a damn good movie. My favourite horror movies of all-time are: Halloween (1978), The Thing (1982) Christine, 28 Days Later. The Exorcist is one of the 4-5 finest films ever made, but it is a drama, so not on my list of "best horror films" of all-time. Same goes with the excellent original Alien franchise( Alien-Aliens-Alien 3-which remains VASTLY underrated and is the best of the bunch)....I have always considered those sci-fi more than horror, with Aliens being sci-fi/action.

I thought it was better than the reviews, it was a good watch. The reveal/first time you see the alien was solid.

But I'll probably forget about it by tomorrow and not watch it again. Thats not a knock, I don't rewatch movies unless they are favorites.

Was recommended The Witch. Even at 90 minutes it’s an absolute waste of time.

Those creepy twins, though. And Black Phillip in real life was a complete asshole and seriously injured the main actor.

I think people will always be divided about its merits or lack thereof.

The tragedy of the Aliens franchise is that Rupert Murdoch bought 20th Century Fox and somebody in the hierarchy didn't like the anti-corporate memes that the franchise featured.

That's one of the main reasons the series has never been iconic the way Star Wars and Star Trek were. We're 20 years into the MMO era and no Aliens MMO because it would require a worldview the parent company just does not want to deal with or promote.

^^that is interesting @Br4d ....I had never heard that before. Where did you read that?? That was always one of my favourite features of the Alien franchise....how they made "the Company/Weyland-Yutani" out to be the omnipotent villain that was Ripley's true foe.

Some things don't need to be read. 1976 Alien, 1982 Aliens (the two anti-corporate films), Murdoch buys Fox in '85 and that's all she wrote on the anti-corporate side. Alien 3 (1992) had a small hard to construe anti-corporate bit at the end when Michael Bishop Weyland (played by Lance Henriksen) pleads with Ripley not to destroy the queen embryo and is then struck by a convict (to engender sympathy) before Ripley throws herself off of the platform.

The villain in the remaining films, where one exist, are the military-industrial complex not the corporations that underpin them.

The director, David Fincher, has disowned Alien 3 saying that studio interference forced him to shoot without a script because every script that was submitted came back with unacceptable rewrites, leading the crew to just start filming on his direction until the project was finished. A previous version of Alien 3, scheduled to be directed by Vincent Ward, was cancelled in pre-production because the studio did not like the script and was re-writing all the time leading Ward to throw his hands up and leave the venture.

The point of the original was that corporations had become the government and things had gone to hell for the average person in the process. This is the theme that 20th Century Fox has repeatedly pithed in the decades since.

Alien came out in 1979 and James Cameron's Aliens came out in 1986, but your overall point is well-taken Br4d. I was just hoping you had read this somewhere so I could have checked it out. Interesting theory on your part though, I'll give you that. I would quibble with you though that the anti-corporate ending of Alien 3 was subtle or the least bit confusing. I thought that it was pretty clear that the Weyland Yutani Corp. was as evil as ever and that they were trying everything they could to deceive and manipulate Ripley one final time, before she gained her final victory over them by taking her own life in such a manner as to prevent them from obtaining the xenomorph embryo.

I did read it somewhere but it's so long ago I can't find the source :). Was before the internet was a thing so probably in a SciFi trade mag like Fangoria.

Its better than season 1. No spoilers, but the finale is fantastic and one of the best individual zombie episodes ive seen from any show

I read this and thought you were referring to The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion, but realized its no.

Side note, if your into international movies (Korean), sci-fi, and action. I think its a good watch. The 2nd will be out later this year so it'll be quick to a sequel.

Anyone else watch international movies? Ive been into those lately as Netflix has a lot of them.

I’ll check it out. I’ve watched Last Train to Busan (great) and Parasite (extremely overrated and barely a good film).

'The Nightingale'. It's a bloody revenge flick. She gets them, alright, but BEWARE ON SO MANY LEVELS. I thought the ending was the worst part of the movie. : / It almost belongs in the horror flick thread, that's how bad some of it is.

Black Widow was pretty good. It has weak villains, but Natasha and her family are fun to watch. Scarlett Johansson did a great job as usual. Florence Pugh did too has her sister, Yelena. If you like MCU films, you will like it.
