https://variety.com/2020/film/news/warner-bros-hbo-max-theaters-dune-matrix-4-1234845342/ Pretty big news. Every Warner Bros movie in 2021 will premiere on HBO Max just like Wonder Woman 1984. Going to the theater may never be the same. Hopefully I can go to the theater to see The Batman in 2022!
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised for the big studios to put out their own streaming service. Not sure if it would be a subscription, but you simply download the app and pay for the movies you want to see. I guess it is a little more Brave New World of us staying at home doing nothing but consuming.......
This is pretty wild. Honestly, it's been years since I've really enjoyed going to movie theaters anyway. With having giant flat screens and Surround Sound in your house, it's so much cheaper to just stay home. I'm actually pretty excited about this. I can't wait to see Godzilla vs. Kong.
Streamed WW84 and was not impressed. Typically weak encore movie with huge leaps of faith required to make the storyline work. The stream worked good enough and I now have HBOMax. Yay for me. Gal Gadot is one super beautiful woman but getting past that, the WW that was in the JL movie was far more believable than this new version.
Soul was pretty weak too in my opinion. Seems like the pitch was good, but once they actually put it together, there just wasn't much to the movie. Barely funny, barely emotional and to be honest, barely any soul music.
WW 1984 is the worst comic superhero movie ever. If it was anyone other than Gal Gadot, I might have turned it off half way through.
As usual i have to go back a year in this thread to comment on movies I've finally seen, one of these days I'll go back to a movie theater. Just watched this yesterday and thought it was a really good movie. I thought Michael Jordan was great in it, thought him and Foxx both played their roles excellently. Rob Morgan really got me with his role, small part but i know too many people that came back really messed up from Vietnam so it just had a big effect on me.
I remember watching Jericho years ago and was surprised it didn't get a 3rd season. Thought it was a pretty good series
couldn't agree more. i'm a huge pixar fan, but soul was the weakest effort i've seen from them to date...slightly edging out Moana for me.
Yeah, you could tell they really rushed the ending , like it didn’t get renewed mid season. Could have been a good series to continue. I think they continued it in a comic book or something.
I am not a huge fan of Wonder Woman and thought the first one was okay. I liked 1984 more than everyone else in this thread. My expectations were low though. Definitely not a great movie and had some real logic issues, but I thought it was fine. It had a good moral to it's story. It's one of those comic movies where less would have been more. Instead they tried to cram so much stuff into one screenplay. Gal Gadot was great as usual, and I was fine with Cheetah and Maxwell Lord. The CGI was weak at the end though. And what was with bringing back Steve Trevor the way they did? Ridiculous. So when you make a movie that long and filled with so much stuff, you are going to have hits and misses. Just seems like more people focused on the misses than the hits. I think because they stood out more. Like Cheetah's arc is that she took her glasses off and is hot now? She couldn't wear high heels but now she can now? Just stupid stuff. If you can't look past that, I fully understand.
