My wife can’t stand Tom Cruise but I’m going to have to drag her to see Fallout. The last two films were great.

You have to respect the lengths he goes to when creating these huge action set pieces in the Mission Impossible movies. They are top notch. That was a long list of Tom Cruise movies you named. Seems like a fan to me.
He doesn't seem bad to me. Just crazy. Genuinely insane. :D
That is from Mission Impossible II. The worst of the series. I re-watched it recently to prepare for Fallout and it was hilarious. Not in a good way though. John Woo made an odd movie. Too much sunglasses and slow-motion. Definitely sticks out as the black sheep of the films. Having said all of that, speeding away of a fireball on a motorcycle is pretty cool.
Yeah, you will like this one too for sure.

MI:2 was so terrible I skipped 3. I jumped back in with Ghost Protocol which is when the series became great. The first one was entertaining but wasn’t memorable.

Yeah that is definitely fair to say. Ghost Protocol, Rogue Nation, and Fallout feel like their own trilogy in a way. 3 is good too. I think it was JJ Abrams' first film he directed. And I agree, the original is a solid movie but nothing special. I like the twists in it.

It's exactly what I said - I was a fan up through Jerry Maguire. I saw Minority Report in the theater and hated it, and saw the last three I listed for free and hated him in them (Tropic Thunder wasn't bad otherwise). I won't be dropping $12 on a ticket to see him in anything at this point.

When did Tom Cruise become relevant again. Aside from the Leah Remini thing?

Yeah, I mostly agree with those thoughts too. Although I thought he was funny in a ridiculous way in Tropic Thunder. Not a fan of those other ones. I did see The Mummy and it was horrendous. There is something about the MI movies I really enjoy. American Made was pretty good too. I watched it on HBO. His other recent action movies I had no interest in.
I don't think he is. That is why Fallout will make $60 million instead of $160 million this weekend.

Best Tom Cruise movie that he ever starred in. Of course that freak 'religion' tried to suppress this and attempted to sue everyone in the world that it leaked.. The Mission Impossible Music, it never gets old. Yeah, that isn't a feed in. Scientology actually used the music.

This is just pure brilliance. Jerry O'Connell is actually a really quirky funny guy from what I've seen. He's an Aquarian, just like yours truly. We also share the same birthday. : )

You have to watch 3, it’s the foundation for some of the plot in future MI. It was a good movie.

He was also good in the Jack Reacher movies, first one in is better than second. I also liked Oblivion, it’s the sci-fi fan in me that can’t help it.

Scientology did everything possible to quash it to the outside world. David Miscarriage sponsored the video as a recruitment tool that wasn't supposed to be revealed to people beyond some level something horseshit. Jerry O'Connell, it was a parody. Tom Cruise and Jerry O'Connell are not friends, lol. I can't believe how people don't laugh in Tom Cruise's fckn face and call him out on this ridiculousness.

Go Leah! I've told my Scientology stories before. You can't just walk into the Scientology Celebrity Centre in NYC anymore. Now you have to be buzzed in because the pranking and heckling became too much for them to handle. Did I ever work it back in the day. I almost got escorted out twice for laughing, having it echo it all over the lobby, and for asking too many questions. "Where are the celebrities?" I was just warming up. Just search jeto Scientology anywhere on the net. LMAO.

Fallout opened at #1 with it's biggest domestic opening of any of the 6 Mission Impossible films with $61 million. Glad some people went to see it. Unlike the other film I loved but no one saw: Blade Runner 2049.

I am definitely going to see this. A24 is just killing it. F you, Hollywood, go NYC. I mentioned it in the Horror Flick thread, they are becoming the new horror house (although this isn't a horror movie).

I can't stomach his nasally voice. I might pirate it if I have nothing to do except Swiffer dog hair in the next couple of weeks. Then again, my life is pretty much consumed by Swiffering dog hair so scratch that.

I'm with statjeff22. Not a fan of Tom Cruise's acting to say the least, but it went full tilt after he took out a full page ad in The New York Times petitioning New Yorkers to open their wallets to the victims of 9/11 roughly two weeks after the attack. I'll never forget that. Fukk you, Mr. The Stupid Face of Scientology. It was a veiled yet transparent plug about his giving, charitable, idiot "religion", and he went on to lecture New Yorkers to donate money to help other New Yorkers who were giving the shirts off their backs all on their own. We know what to do, asswipe, and we don't need dead creepy L. Ron Hubbard with his shitty rotten horse teeth and Xenu as guides. He didn't say it outright but you had to be a moron to miss what he was doing.

Good luck finding that NYTs ad on the web. Scientology scrubbed it long ago when people went all fukk you, buddy. Tom Cruise donated a mil +, that's nice; but he didn't do it anonymously and didn't keep it himself. He blew his credibility right there, and it insulted a lot of people, but that isn't why Scientology scrubbed it. I'm sure I'm not the only one who remembers that ad. What a self-serving brainwashed dick he is.

Not in theatre any more, but I watched Hostiles this week on a flight; it’s very good and Christian Bale is incredible in it. I’m not sure if he was overlooked for last year’s award or would be up for next year’s but it’s an outstanding performance.

I will have to check that out. I remember seeing a trailer for it. I think it was given a limited release last year, which is why no one saw it.
