Yeh I'm pretty shocked about that. I had the Rays winning in 3 or 4 and the Yanks-twins going to a game 5 - could still happen but it's not looking likely at all.

Maddon has been pretty bone-headed out there with his decisions...Gardenhire just has had his team outclassed.

If there were any Rays fans out there, they would be pissed off at Maddon for his bad decisions

I've all baseballed out for the day. I won't watch game 1 of san fran/atlanta.

I did watch the first five games though, so there's that.

I'm very surprised at what happened in the AL.

    Four good teams, really.

Having all four games go to the road teams is unusual and I wonder what the odds would've been set at for that to happen.

AL well ahead of the NL, though. AL completed four games before the NL began its third game. Weird scheduling.

Cox starting Lowe in Game 1 is a real head scratcher. He pitched well in October, but he wasn't that good this season.

Hudson was clearly Atlanta's best pitcher and he's going in Game 3, while Tommy Hanson, the second best starter, is pitching in Game 2.

    It should've been Hudson-Hanson-Lowe.

Well, Giambalco used to wear a gold thong as a good luck charm while on the Yankees.

    Lincecum: 6 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 0 R, 9 K

Halladay, Cliff Lee, CJ Wilson, Tim Lincecum.

    Some unreal pitching performances.

    Timmy: 8 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 12 K

new giants playoff record with 14 Ks for Timmy.

The previous record was 12, I believe.

edit: previous record was only 10, according to TBS on 10/10

    1-2-3 9th inning

    9 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 14 K

    1-0 win

Pettitte pitched very well, but not nearly as good as those four.

Hell, Wilson was a step down himself.

It was really Halladay, Lincecum, and Lee.

one day soon one of Brackman/Banuelos/Betances will be able to replicate a Holliday/Lincecum/Lee performance in the postseason.

    I hope =/

What's your point? That I said I had concerns about Pettitte because he pitched poorly in his last two starts?

I don't see anything wrong with that. It was true, and whenever a pitcher misses that much time, that's how it is.

I'm glad you're having so much fun. Remember, I didn't even say Pettitte would be bad in the playoffs or anything. I simply said I had concerns about him and Hughes based on this season.

I said the Yankees would probably win this series, and they're well on their way now.

The lack of runs for the Giants will fucking kill us. Can't expect a gem every night. Cain is my favorite player, but he is either very on or very off. Sanchez is still young, but can shut you down any night.

As far as Lowe pitching G1, I have to assume Cox was playing off the Giants rotation. Why not have your #1 and #2 go against their #2 and #3, respectivly? Sure they're down early and the momentum can kill you, but Hudson and Hanson have been damned good as of late.

Because I'd rather have Tim Hudson pitch twice than Derek Lowe.

Fair point. But Hudson could also pitch on short rest if need be, I'm sure.
