I remember Sanchez played damn good in preseason 09 and looked nothing like that the rest of the year, until playoffs of course.

Pre-season is not a good indicator of success or failure. However; I think many were already down on the Jets before they even entered camp. On paper, I have yet to hear one compelling argument as to how we're a better team than the one that finished 8-8 last year. Absolutely inexcusable that there were no upgrades made to the O-Line.

We might know more after the 3rd game. Sounds like Rex will run most of the game with Sanchez. Maybe this will get the O clicking. We can hope. If it stays stagnant - there could be some confidence issues on offense going into the season. I will be watching the OL very closely to see if they can get it together.

Exactly!!! In the fat ass shape I'm in I could still, at the very least, get in a defender's way and become a stumbling block to the QB. Pieces of our O-line aren't even in the position to get in the way and act as an obstacle. Numerous times I have seen them whiffing air. Fundamentals should be something they bring to the table from college. The fundamentals are lacking and that is something pre-season is not for. Pre-season is for technique and gelling together. Not working on VERY basic fundamentals.

Forget the fans for a second because we are emotional because we love our team and some of us read an listen to much. The media is totally out of control, they have it out for Rex, Woody and Tannenbaum. I swear if you just woke up from a coma and read Myers article from yesterday, you would swear we are 0-5, I mean its not even 'If" anymore. Its like it happend already. Holy smokes, that's it. Jets are done? Is it time to talk 2013 draft. Well, at least we won't go into the season with a big head.

LOL - You would also think that Tebow is outplaying Sanchez and is about to be named as the starter if you followed the national media's reporting of the Jets.

I don't really mind losing all the pre-season games. What I look for is some form of execution, especially on offense, or true talent and abilty in individual players. So far, there is major concern on offense. I am not as worried about the defense, but the play of the offense has been nothing short of scary. Sanchez looks like he has regressed; I hope this is only a temparary aberation. We have no running game at all. The play of the O line is suspect. Wayne Hunter is playing like Dana Carvey in Wayne's World; that is some scary stuff.

Again, we can lose all of the remaining pre-season games, and I am fine with allof it, but I do want to see glimpses of performance and execution. If we don't, the light switch will not be there in game 1 against the Bills; a team that historically plays us very hard and is tough to beat.

Is it Rex or the media attention. Probably a mix of both.

Im not jumping ship and going nuts till after the Buffalo game. We must win that game!

Silly post really. If a team struggles as mightily on offense like they did last year and comes out of the gates in pre-season struggling WORSE, it stands to reason people are gonna say the offense is terrible.

Its the same offense as last year! Except for losing Plax and adding a rookie. Wwhy on earth would one expect the offense to be good this year?

    Because Schotty is gone?

The Schotty bashers are gonna see the same exact shit this year and hate Sparano just as much

Its not "just practice". Its "just practice" for Tom Brady. Or the Saints or Giants or Packers......for us, its much needed time to improve. And we aint improving!

See, it's not the results that bother people, it's the process in which these results have been achieved. I couldn't care less about points being scored, but I do care that our OL can't seem to block anyone. While we may not be throwing out our best offense out there, we are throwing out our best OL (that we have) and they are struggling mightily, especially Hunter. No matter how vanilla we want our offense to be, I doubt the coaches are scheming it like "Hey Wayne, how about this, you pretend to be a loser just like last year, and just when the defense thinks they can attack you, you pounce on them like a horny monkey"!!! Also remember that, it's not like the defenses are setting up exotic blitzes and emptying the playbook, they are holding back as well.

While the panic level overall isn't justified, I think the level of concern about the offensive line deserves a raise in your blood pressure. We already know that Sanchez needs time in the pocket, so an offensive line that is underperforming, is a major concern. Saying that, when under pressure, the QBs hot read almost always involves slants and curls, and our two slant and curl guys in Holmes and Kerley were out. Hill and the others are more vertical guys, which take more time to develop in terms of time between snap and throw.

Overall, I think this has been a decent preseason without any major injuries. I would love to see the offense be more productive and the OL actually protect the qb.

Think you're making a mistake by making the relationship everyone is panicking only with the results of this offseason. What has people upset is that this preseason appears to not address one of the biggest weaknesses in last year's team - Offensive Line.

When people throw out the concept of secret offense & WR being out they're showing a lack of understanding concerning why others are upset ... yet still continue to speak/post. One of the biggest weaknesses last season was RT. It was not addressed and the Jets actually gave up a 4th round pick to get wildcat qb instead of a RT prospect. Return of WR don't mean crap if Sanchez can't stand in the pocket to make a pass. Tebow is even worst shape because WFH is actually protecting his blind side.

FA, draft ignored the problem & Rex/Co. basically told everyone there's nothing to worry about here for the entire offseason. With WFH going the entire season as starting RT, fans are upset because if they can see this weakness ... how can Rex/Tanny just overlook it.

A shit OL is enough to ruin the entire season. WR & Great D carry a team if the QB can't get more than 4 seconds consistently to make a play. When Mangold went down, the team basically tanked ... so we all have already seen first-hand what will happen to the Jets if the OL gets dominated consistently.

Piss poor punting and piss poor blocking have nothing to do with schemes. Get a RT and a P, Tanny. Preseason is supposed to be about competition for spots. No comp for WFH or TC.

I haven't read one article that even hints that Tebow is outplaying Sanchez.

    what weve learned from preseason:

bart scott needs help in coverage
landry is going to make an impact over the middle
coples has a lot of upside
wayne hunter cannot be left alone on his assignment unless its a run

otherwise, there are still a lot of questions marks. sparano isnt doing anything too crazy with play-calling, in fact, hes given tebow a more balanced look, which leads me to believe that he really wants to test this line at first so he knows what hes dealing with. in that case, everything is going fine. hunter will either be replaced or put in the bst possible position once the season rolls around, and hopefully he wont be lieft on an island like he was so many times last season.
