It's not Rex's job to draft players. He will have little input.

Have a little patience. Kerley's hurt, Holmes is still getting back into his groove, Goodson will be returning in a couple weeks, in the mean time we have the Bills & Titans. 2 more very winnable games. We will survive as long as we limit turnovers. If we can get to 3-1 we'll be in pretty good shape by the time we hit the tough stretch of the schedule. Last game reminded me of how crucial Kerley is to our offense. Ride the wave. It's going to be a fun one. Especially when the likes of Coples returns. I'm already licking my chops.

    Delusional

There was no rain on that pass to the end zone. He flat dropped it. There as also no rain when he went up for that pass that hit him dead in the chest

It is what it is. What's the point of whining about the lack of playmakers all season long? We knew after last season that the Jets had too many holes to fill in one off-season. Defense has a solid core, we grind it out on offense this season and address the lack of playmakers next off-season.

It's amazing Clyde Gates is on the practice squad on 31 other teams but on the Jets he is suppose to be our deep threat ,Its amazing even in the French Football League Gates is still a solid 4th option

Spadola is an undrafted free agent- so he started on the bottom of the depth chart. We can let him work in practice and bring him on. I truly believe we will see alot more of him this week and weeks to come. Something tells me he is going to be a guy who does not flash amazing speed or physical skills but knows how to get open and do something with ball once he catches it. I think by end of year he is solidly in the reciever rotation if not higher.

Theoretically, the 1st FIVE draft picks of Rex's 1st draft were all offense, followed by a 3rd + for Braylon*

    * the longterm effectiveness of those picks is a different story

Bro, we have been saying this for YEARS! When was the last time the Jets truly had a difference Maker on Offense? Curtis, Key? Its been a decade since the Jets had a dynamic talent on O, yet we keep drafing projects and Defensieve linemen. I just dont get it and thats why we have this Thread!

That said, we can be 3-1 after the Bills and Titans as Barcs pointed out. Get Goodson back and hopefully dont have any serious injurys.

Idzik is on the cusp of having the youngest, most dominating defense in the NFL, plus a HC who knows how to use it. If we draft high in 2014, I would applaud Idzik going OLB, Safety, and Harris' replacement #1,2,3.

    #4,5,6,7 = RB & OL

    FA = WR, TE

    2015, 2016, 2017 = Offense

2016,17,18,19 = SB, SB, SB, SB

If Geno is gonna be our franchise QB then we have to start drafting players that he can grow and develop with. We need our version of AJ Green. Maybe the kid from Texas A&M could be that guy. We can get a solid OLB and S prospect in the later. It's time to build up the offense.

Take the other approach and draft O in 2014. With a gurue like Rex, he can do more with less. We need to draft O heavy in 2014 and 2015; resign our young talent on D and buckel up for the ride of our lives!

I accept the fact that the draft priorities for 2014 will be, OLB, WR, ILB, Safety, with later rounds for OL, RB, and more WR. Who gets selected in the first 3 rounds will clearly be BAP in the aforementioned positions, so it could again be D, D, and D for first 3 rounds. Who knows . If no stud WR is available we go OLB, Safety and ILb in first 3. May be we can make one big free agency splash for a WR.

New England had a ton of drops too. Brady just kept firing and put some touch on it. He stayed persistent.

If Geno doesn't throw behind Holmes Jets win that game. Can't put it all on Gates. Clearly Geno needs to understand that field goals are part of the game too. Admit it. You haven't seen wide receivers open like this in years. One step at a time. It will come. Geno has an upside but if he ignores the 3 points in his hip pocket, drops like Gates had will loom over everybody's memory. Geno will be a memory if it becomes a habit.

I say three more games and then we will find out if these guys are worth anything more than they are now and we will see if Geno can make lemonade out of a bowl of lemons.

False. It was raining during kickoff, it just wasn't monsoon status at the time so it didn't really show on TV.

Gates will be here all season IMO. Idzik does not care if the jets win 1 game or 10. While smith had some horrible plays last week, if the front office cared and believed in this team, they would have signed someone. I know it was tough weather, but half of the drops were costly.

Rex is trying to win games. He has no support from idzik, I'm sure idzik would prefer he go 4/12 to justify his termination.

Gates is the exact player they want. Cheap, fills roster space and can be purged next year t no cost to the jets.

This is a full blow up of the old regime ideas. Rex is left holding the bag and I feel bad for him.
