I’m wondering how 2 gas stations, same company (circle k), can be .20 different per gallon within 1/4 mile of eachother. One is on the southbound side of the highway, the other on the northbound

Lots of reasons - traffic count may be higher on one side than the other, gas brand may be different, and competition may vary on one side of the highway - all factors related to pricing but most probably the stores have different operators. Circle K owns the majority of its stores in the US but about 700 are franchises.

    https://markets.businessinsider.com...overnment-production-dallas-fed-survey-2022-3

More than half of oil and gas executives pointed to shareholder influence as the main reason US crude producers are holding back despite surging energy prices.

In a March Dallas Fed survey, 59% of executives from 132 firms reported that the main reason publicly traded oil producers are restraining growth is due to investor pressure to maintain capital discipline.

Fifteen percent said "other," which includes a combination of personnel shortages, limited availability of equipment, and supply-chain snags, according to the data.

Environmental, social and governance issues garnered 11% of the vote, 8% said lack of access to funding, and just 6% blamed government regulations. Some also cited uncertainty around oil prices, and whether they would continue to remain elevated.

Prices go up and down really fast, it’s bad business if they operate based on that fickle environment. They could spend billions on a new drilling project and then the price craters, that’s how people’s careers end

Oh, lol. I went to Hartford to watch them play the Rangers not long before they moved. It was awesome. Place was filled with Rangers fans. And if course we won. Good times!

P.S. I've only been living in CT for 6 years. I spent the majority of my life as a New Yorker.

I went to quite a few Whalers games as a kid. I grew up about 20 minutes from the CT border.

I quit hockey once they left

Prices haven't dropped as quickly as they went up. Even Citgo is still over $4 a gallon.

I'm buying off the main routes because the main routes are still in the $4.90/gal range.

bb is up by New Milford I think.

I'm seeing $4.10 down in Danbury and Bethel.

I'd expect prices to be a bit lower than that. I think Venezuelan oil may have gotten hit by sanctions more heavily than some other places. Citgo is usually $1 a gallon lower than the high prices on Rt 7 and now it is only $.80 lower and that's on a much higher base than normal.
