I no longer live in NY but I've been looking at the current hurricane pattern. They're saying the eye may hit NYC directly. All my family is there. I know I'm an asshole on here sometimes (lol), n I know this is just a football site but seriously, you guys be safe this weekend. I see alot of my friends being "proud" and acting like this is just a drizzle coming through. I'm not saying go make a bomb shelter but just "protect ya neck".

I can't wait till this shit passes so we can fuck the Giants up. I'm starting to really h8 Giants fans. I dont mind the team per se but Giants fans tend to sniff themselves like their shit doesn't stink all because of that longshot ass Superbowl they won. I must admit, it put a smile on my face to see Eli bloody last year.

I live in the DC area (it is not going to be a major event here.....but that isn't stopping people from running around to stock up on supplies like the end of the world is coming) so maybe I'm just not close enough to get it, but I am having a hard time understanding this decision. The storm is set to hit the NYC area on Sunday (probably as a TS, not a hurricane). If they play on Saturday, everyone will be cleared out before the weather turns. It seems likely that NYC will have power outages and transportation issues AFTER the storm hits. So, by moving the game to Monday, they are in essence canceling it, unless the storm moves to the east.

    Am I missing something?

They've moved the game in anticipation, of a really nasty rain storm that might hit, on SUNDAY.

Especially considering that the 'massive hurricane' is already weakening, is not coming till Sunday, and in all probability will be the most over hyped sensation since the Won.

AC Sunday morning. Lawn Guyland Sunday afternoon.

Lets face it this is more about $$$$$ than anything else.

Way better ratings on Mon Night.

I hope Jane skinner finds herself a Man.

Same here. I live in PG County (literally down the block from DC) and I went to do some lite grocery shopping. People we ransacking the isles like they got a call personally from the man upstairs. I'm all for preparing but I'm not gonna act like I'm Noah. Marylanders (I guess thats what they're called) are so dramatic.

Anyone know if the re-scheduled game will effect any other games.

Irene waited until the Patriots were playing away from home as she was scared of annoying Rob Gronkowski.

Are you joking? The weather reports say its weakening. Aside from that it isnt even near the area till Sunday afternoon.

This is about the NFL maximizing TV viewership under the scantest of excuses.

Irene does not reach Atlantic City, till Sunday Morning. And It's reported as weakening at Weather Underground, prior to the move.

Fuck the people that bought (oh, and BTW cant sell tix at this point bc Stub Hub shuts out the event) tickets....Once again, the NFL proves that the people in the stands merit little to n consideration.

This is the PSL BS in microcosm.

Rick Perry sent Irene to cut Obama's vacation short.

Then he's gonna chill her out to make him look like a pussy for doing it.

In MD you seem to get hit with more power outages (I think your power lines are above ground) so I can understand SOME stocking up. I live in Loudoun County (we don't even have a TS warning) and someone told me today they saw two women fighting over a case of water at Costco today. New local news media doesn't help matters any. Between the earthquake and the hurricane you can almost see the local news anchors jerking off below the news desk.

That may be so, but given NJ Transit is shutting down at 12 noon it seems they have little choice.

Got to love those free markets, eh?

its not about the money. Transit and bridges are going to be shut down which means many who may have went to the game, after the shut down at noon, wouldnt be able to go back home.

The storm effects are said to arrive at 6pm Saturday and lasting until Sunday afternoon. Even if the winds do die down a little, the storm will still dump a sh1t load of rain which will cause flooding.

    Pussy ass bullshit.

They could have played at noon and had the game done hours before the storm hit.

Is this football or a bake sale? WTF.

Lets look at this logically. (NFL)

Game was to take place Saturday aft. While Irene was dancing in North Carolina.

The NFL moves the game to Monday, because this is a MFer of a storm, coming Sunday?

Whose aftermath will allegedly leave.....Millions without power (to watch the Game) and blocked egress (to get to the game) on Monday?!?!?!

Storm effects are not arriving Saturday early. It makes Landfall in NC Saturday early.

It might be raining Saturday night. Storm Makes Atlantic City SUNDAY MORNING.

And Losing a few people due to Mass Transit, is different than losing local viewers and Mass Transit on Mon. (see Above)
