I think no pass over 15 yards was partly because we never needed a 3rd and long, partly because IND kept everything in front of them, partly because we didn't need it. Agree on Greene. His head was up and he found holes not in front of him. He also realized he can't go left and right a lot, he would go lateral and then make a quick cut to go up field. Hill looked good. Him and Sanchez were on the same page on the TD catch. A nice to sight see with Sanchez and Gates/White/etc being on different pages a lot.
We had over 100 yards rushing in the first half, and we don't try 1 playaction bomb deep. A big pass play in the first half isn't needed? If we didn't have any 3rd and longs, wouldn't that make the PA pass that much more effective? That isn't bad playcalling, that is play calling for your Franchise QB not to F^, correct? Not to state the obvious, but Ind was keeping the safeties up. That is not keeping everything in front of you.
The way the Jets ran the ball, they could have just kept running the ball all the time, then moving the chains through the air on 3rd downs all game, and they would have won the game. So that's exactly what they did. I wish they gave Sanchez a little more opportunity to throw the ball, but he did well what he was asked to do.
We ran the ball well to establish the pass when needed. What more can you want? To shut them out? Hell, one of their field goals came from a pick 6 called back because of a penalty.
I only hope that the run defense and the run offense continue this upswing. Next week might be a little tougher. Hope this is enough usage of Tebow to keep Woody's Johnson in his pants and out of Rex's business.
Agree with what every-1 else has stated but I gotta add that "penalty" on Maybin - where he blocked Andrew Suck on Cro's INT - was absolutely horrific!!! Replays clearly show Suck attempting to engage Cro with Maybin simply viewing him as a Colt "defender" trying to stop Cro' ! Otherwise, it was a great game for the Jets.
All I know is, Cromartie was the man, with Revis out, I think he is taking this as his time to show what he is all about....dude was returning kick offs, playing offense, and shutting down one of the better recievers in the league. (not to mention 2 near pick sixes)
It was 4th and 11. Tebow threw for 23 yards. It was a pretty gutsy call. That said... The key component today was Cro, no doubt. He literally raped Wayne all game long - so much so that late in the game, Wayne started looking for Cro before even the ball got there, dropping passes after passes. Cro should have had two pick 6's though - the refs were fucking horrible. With Wayne taken out, Luck was hard-pressed, and for some reason Jets run D and coverage came alive. I have to think that's more of an artifact of Colts team lacking talents in general than Jets being such a dominant team. I know they are not for a fact.
