Thought: What if Brienne didn't kill Stannis. What if she gives him an ultimatum: take the black or die? Just a thought. Additional thought: If Beric Dondarrian (sp?) is able to bring people back from the dead maybe Melissandre is as well. If so she is at the wall with Jon Snow so it's possible she might be able to bring him back. I know Kit Harrington has said he isn't coming back but would he really say "well, next season I get brought back from the dead so, yeah, don't worry." The issue is that we need a perspective character at the wall and there is nobody there now. It's possible that Theon/Reek and Sansa make a run for the wall and they become the perspective characters but just thinking of other possibilities.
When are you going to start the books? i held off too, but figure now is a good time.....just started the first one.
I read the first one years ago, before the series started, but never got round to reading any more until last year. I've read the first four books now but am trying to stay behind the show. I'll probably wait until after the next season until reading the next one, after all it's not like there's a hurry because he hasn't written the things yet.
ok i got it. you are well underway with the books, but are trying to leave just a little lag behind the show. makes sense. hasn't the show effectively caught up to the books already tho? seems like the show's schedule is going to surpass that of the books, which i'm surprised haven't been completed yet. i'm just starting out with books, and probably should have started a little sooner. always felt like certain things were going over my head while watching the show. In reading the books, i figure i'll fill in those gaps and get a much broader understanding of the storyline.
If Stannis is really dead i'm going to be pissed. He's probably the biggest character killed off on the show who is still alive in the books. I'm also pretty confident that he is going to win the battle at Winterfell.
Where are you in the books? I read only the first two, but my brother has read them all. **Spoiler ** What happened in the show sounds pretty accurate to the books minus breanne being there. He said that stanis army is smashed at winter fell and stanis is missing among the remains.
I've read all the books. He does say that in the Pink Letter but it's debatable if the letter is accurate. Some people think it wasnt even Ramsay who wrote it. Stannis' fate is definitely in doubt at the end of the 5th book but there are also sample chapters from TWOW that are out. One is a Theon chapter and Stannis is in it. He talks like he has a plan of attack as well.
just finished the third episode. I'm not sold on the show yet but it's interesting enough to keep me watching further.
Wrapped up season 5. Outstanding show; S5 started weak like the first season but was great by the end. I doubt Jon Snow stays dead, mainly because everybody seems to get their just desserts from relevant parties, but there is nobody really relevant to the true watch traitors to avenge him other than himself.
There are theories... Melissandre showed up...He could be her Azor Ahai. The one to lead the battle over the Whitewalkers Bran may have warged into Jon's body just like he does with Hodor and his wolf and may have saved Jon.
Got this bad boy for Christmas: http://www.amazon.com/Snow-Lives-Sh...194320&sr=8-4&keywords=Jon+Snow+Lives+T-Shirt
I know it says spoilers and enter at your own risk.. but i still don't want to ruin it for anyone so PLEASE SKIP MY POST IF YOU AREN'T CAUGHT UP!!!! Not only did Melissandre show up, but if you pause the screen right when Jon looked dead and the blood was leaking out of his body, it formed in the form of his wolf. Also, remember how she said Stanis needed to burn his daughter for a sacrifice? What if she used the sacrifice not to help Stanis to win the war, but to make Jon come back to life? There is no way he is dead.
Yeah I brought that up the night it happened. The biggest clue is in the new teaser They show Jon Snow and then at the end they show Bran going into warg mode. I think thats what is going to happen
Mellisandre bringing him back makes the most sense. What would even be her purpose to have returned to castle black in the first place? Or did I miss her being ordered to return?
She ran away back to safety...Dont you remember Stannis lost his people right outside Winterfell? Winterfell is not too far from the Wall, its like a trip from New York to New Hampshire
