I agree, El Guapo isn't crazy. ... (smirk)

However watching Sanchez' post-game presser was enough to make one want to throw up--what "leadership!"

First of all, Little Miss Vanity Case looks like a vain cherry-girl diva wearing that stupid fucking hair barrette. And his shirking responsibility for his inexcuseable pick-6 gaffe was dispicably self-serving and something even his 'no-blame' apologists can't slough off with their all-purpose "sob...they didn't 'help' him...they didn't develop him" trump card.

Girl up man and take resposibility.

    My take:
-Sanchez wasn't as bad as people are saying nor as "good" as his stats indicate. Still can't complete a short pass to set up a screen which is pretty pathetic.
-Geno looked okay but play calling was brutal. He also had a couple of read option plays where he handed it off and we got nothing or it ended up in a loss, maybe if he had kept it would have been better
-OL looked brutal early on but got better as time went on (first team)
-RBs were brutal, definitely need Ivory and Goods on back soon
-drops aside I thought the receivers did a decent job getting separation. Was hoping for more from Hill but thought Winslow and Edwards looked OK. Spadola and Rogers have some promise
-DL looked OK, disruptive at least
-not sure of Coples at OLB yet
-Milliner looked good for the most part, good break up on the end zone pass
    -ST sucked

So definitely not as bad as it could have been but still lots of room for improvement. Ivory said he could be practising soon, not sure if he'll be ready to play against the Jags but I hope we see him sooner than later.

Coples at lb was pretty good, he made some tackles out there includibg running down reggie bush from behind on that big run to the outside.

Barnes seems good just too eager to do something this game, needs to settle down.

Milliner looked great, and there is no way that challenge was a reception that was some bullshit if i ever saw some. I like how he looks for the ball and thought he played very well

Safety and lb seem a bit shaky but you cant really work through that stuff till you see it play out in a game situation so im not going to call it a soft spot just yet.

Offense looks like its starting to come together. Sanchez made a terrible throw which turned into a pick six but he gathered himself and his teammates and they finished the night poised and together. I think sanchez needs to get those plays out of his system and put his faith in the new system. It seems he settled down and played with confidence after the pick, and besides that play he looked like a new qb. Offense will come along and i have to say im unimpressed with geno after all the praise hes received. Sure he throws a nice ball but he played nervous and im not sure if he was out there the whole game if he would have made some gamechanging plays.

Sanchez def looked better, but our wrs are the stars of this game. Great job getting separation finally and making it easy for our qbs. Gates looks a million times better than last season. Hell everythibg about the offense looks better except rb, but with ivory back this week i think well be just fine with him powell mcknight and crossing our fingers goodson can be here to start the season

Jets dont look bad at all and if this game didnt get you pumped for the season i feel bad for you and your negativity

Best evaluation of the game. And get this: after the game, Ryan was asked to evaluate Smith's performance. His reply? "I really didn't see too many of the plays he had, you guys probablly saw more than I did. I was concentrating on the defense." This is your HEADCOACH folks. Unbelievable.

I didn't see or hear this quote but if true, it is exactly the reason why Rex is not head coach material.

He didn't see the plays because he really doesn't care, he knows Sanchez is his guy.

Rex will see the plays on film this week. He probably watched them last night. There's nothing wrong with him coaching up the defense while the offense is on the field.

You see Belichick doing it all the time. But hey, if you have an axe to grind this is big news!

    Just rewatched the first quarter

Sanchez makes good throws, but he makes some absolutely terrible ones that limit YAC. That pass to Winslow turns into a Pick 6 if Winslow doesn't make that beautiful tackle.

You can already see the speed on our D-line in comparison to last year.

Our offense looks night and day better too. We actually move the ball down field and receivers are actually open.

Receivers all did well. I hope Spadola sticks around...he certainly is having a very good training camp and preseason. Made a nice first down run.

O-line started off shaky but gelled together. Penalties softened with first team after a while.

Kyle Wilson's antics on overthrows aree getting on my nerves. Milliner did well

Lol Belichick literally turns his back to the offense and coaches the D. And he did this in Cleveland too.

The thing about Sanchez he is always content about what happens

Great QBS always say they have more to work on and fix all of Sanchez's answers are we looked great or it went well when it really didnt.

“We moved on and came back to throw a touchdown pass. I thought we ran the ball well. I thought Marty mixed up the calls well,” he said. “I thought the O-line looked great. We just have to eliminate some penalties but I like what we did.”

Really Peterman sucks, and our running game was terrible

The lack of depth at almost all positions is really concerning. Especially with the drop in talent from the 1s to the 2s. That being said, I do think we were facing what is going to be one of the best d-lines in the NFL.

After watching the game last night a couple things stand out. I believe geno should be the starter week 1 because we know what Sanchez brings as shown by the pick six he threw to ziggy ansah.

    1. We need mike Goodson! Ivory staying healthy could be an issue, Powell is serviceable but not an every down back and with griffin breaking his leg last night we need Goodson more than ever to take pressure off whoever our qb will be week 1
    2. Get ready for alot of "holding, #64 of the offense", Stephen peterman...as a team we had about 400 penalty yards last night but peterman was the subject of holding calls with the 1st team and not to mention was being abused on the left side of the line...we only can hope Brian winters can prove a serviceable starter to replace peterman
    3. Our defense is fast! Yes we could get better play from our line backing group and Kyle Wilson still can't get his head turned to see the ball but guys were flying to the ball!
    4. Interior d line needs to do better against the run...we were being gashed up the middle on run plays
    5. WR can be a bright spot for us...to me Clyde gates looked very good and his route running was sharp...if and when santonio can return it should only help us

These are just a few things that stood out...I didn't get into the qb play because I don't think the jets gave geno enough attempts prior to his injury and Sanchez stats are deceiving...he was awful...the td to Cumberland was pure blown coverage...Rex and Sanchez are tied at the hip and Rex will ride with Sanchez until we let them both go at the end of the season..

I thought Sanchez responded well to the TERRIBLE pick 6. He could have just thrown in the towel. I know I did when I saw it. Haha.

No, he does not. Hes kept Weiss playbook, and steadily altered it, incorporating elements of the Airraid, and then visiting with Chip Kelly at oregon, to investigate his offense.

Its no great secret that the defense has declined, while the offense has constantly adapted to the realities of the modern NFL, and thats been Mostlly Belis doing.

Rex has ro be on D this year, to break in DT, and a half dozen starters. We can only hope that eventually, he takes interest in the offense.
