Well if you're considering him as a starter the risk is much greater. If you're considering him as a depth guy the risk is much less. Remember last year when we signed Justin Miller and just cut him when he didn't do what we wanted? Same idea IMO.
I can see your point but do we really need to bring in a player with his baggage? As I said the upside is small - especially if its only to cover 4th receivers - but the downside could be very bad for the whole team if he behaves in his usual manner. Yes, we could cut him but would he have upset the team chemistry by then?
Too bad he didn't bash Jerry Jones over the head with a chair after his last freak out in that hotel bathroom in Dallas. He should have at least made it worth my time. A shame.
I'm not sure how much of an impact a punt returner/dime back is going to have on team chemistry. If Rex brings nothing else to this team it's strong team chemistry. They fought through a pretty rough patch last season and came together strong. I mean, I don't want Revis (or anyone) going out clubbing with him, so I see your point too. I think that could be avoided with preventative measures. I'm not hell bent to sign him, I just think the idea does have some merit within the right parameters.
I agree that as long as Rex is in the locker room we will have strong team chemistry but thats not what worries me about pacman. Im afraid of him getting along all to well with players like cromartie and braylon and bringing them into the shit hole that is Pacmans life.
Coleman. At least he can tackle the guy after he catches a pass, instead of slam a hooker's head through a plate mirror out of frustration. The guy is an idiot, a recidivist, and a complete jackass. He was a great player in college, he had a couple of good years in Tennessee, but nothing after that. Just let this asshole's career die already.
I say go for it. We have 3 months before training camp and 6 months before the season and if he makes one mistake, he's gone and we owe him zip. He could replace Leon on kickoffs.
Didn't he go to the CFL last season? how did he do their? But I personally wouldn't want to bring him here. Not for anything the Jets are slowly reminding me of the 07 Cowboys. Huge Egos....and then us imploding in the end. Lets just stick with what we have.
No, he never played in the CFL last season. He and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers agreed to a contract but before he signed it a video of him confusing the CFL with the UFL and saying that the second he hears of interest from any NFL team he would bolt. The Blue Bombers later rescinded their contract offer. Jones is an idiot. There is literally no point in signing him.
Wow this guy is just a failure. He never learned or grew up from his mistakes after it cost him MILLIONS in the NFL. He's a lost cause. We are not some desperate team begging for talent. We don't need this piece of shit fuck him. Let him go tryout for the Browns or Lions. We need Adam Jones as much as we need Michael Vick. Nada
Sign Adam Jones as a 1 year minimal salary ST player who can add some depth at corner, but Pacman id never sign him hes just an idiot whos best days are behind him. Give it up bro your career didnt pan out like you thought it would. Accept that your aren't some superstar and treat any remaining opportunities you have like you should have in the first place...A JOB.
we can debate whether he is as talented as he once was after not playing for a season and probably not keeping his physical or mental football skills in shape, and thus whether ability wise whether he is worth taking a gamble on. but I think what is indisputable is the fact that he is a player, no matter how good he may be, that simply can't be counted on. that's the risk you take in signing him, and I don't see any positive in a player like that who you can't trust will be ready to make a play when you count on him the most. a players worth is more than simply his physical skills. hasn't Vernon Gholston taught that to Jet fans yet?
