Not a stupid thread. Honestly I think Rex Ryan can really whip people into mental shape, and cut the bullshit. I don't know Rex personally obviously or this Pacman guy, so not sure. If the Jets organization think its a good idea and would sign him then I trust the decision.
I wouldn't have a problem bringing him in as a dime back/punt returner. You'd have to give him a contract that was small with incentives for not being a douche for an entire year. Maybe setup Dungy as his mentor. I'll bet a lot of people who bitch out drew coleman are the same ones criticizing this idea. This could be setup to be a low risk move.
I say sign any we can get that might help the team and let the coaches cut who doesn't fill the bill. Give Pacman a incentive based deal with a LOT of conduct based fines and see if he can learn under ryan. At this point I would rather have a low paid cancer like him than a lazy over paid cancer like Gholston.
the 1st thread ended on feb 15th the 2nd was closed on feb 12th and the 3rd is from may 10th of 2009 for christ sakes. dont open the thread.the title explains exactly where the thread is going.you know the topic the exact discussion. and if you have been apart of the other two, which are NO WHERE NEAR THE 1ST PAGE,why open it. let the people who have not discussed the topic talk about it. ITS THE OFF SEASON GVE ME A FREAKIN BREAK. BTW yes bring him in check his head and physical abilities. and if tanny and rex like him, so do i.
I don't think he can whip an actress into shape. I'm talking more about thugs. Also the Vernon thing, so far he failed on that, but from what I have read the Jets in the locker room think Vernon doesn't give a shit.
http://bumpshack.com/2007/03/02/pacman-jones-criminal-record/ Some players deserve a second chance. This would be probably his 15th chance. This turd is not worth the gamble.
Hes not in good shape. didnt he say like a couple months ago that it was his first time working out in like a year or something. Hes lazy and tries to get by on talent alone. No tanks
He just ran a 4.4 in a workout for a handful of teams. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...nfusion-explained-trainer-claims-he-ran-a-44/
Problem I see is that when Pacman was in Dallas, he looked finished. Wasn't able to cover as he used to do and apparently lost a step as well. Now that he hasn't played football for sometime, I doubt if he can be of an immediate impact. He's a one year player. You can not rely on him for more than a yr. He'll probably end up shooting someone in a strip club in NY. He will be a cancer in the locker room. If you guys think Marshall is insane, you've seen nothing. Jerry had to put four gunmen on him to protect OTHERS and he still somehow ended up in a fight. Some people never learn, and Pacman is one of them. Marshall is a nutcase but his issues mostly concern with his personal life (gf beater). Pacman is a risk for the ENTIRE team. He will put his team mates at risk along with the rest of the NY public.
Surely, we are not in such bad shape that we need to sign Pacman of all players. I think that the upside is small but the potential downside for the team, morale, bad publicity, etc is horrendous - please don't do it!
Who would you rather have covering a teams #4 receiver, Drew Coleman or Pacman Jones? Considering he'd likely be buried on the depth chart, making a low salary and wouldn't cost us any picks I think it could be worth the risk. If he fucks up, just cut him.
Damn like riding a bike i guess. I still feel like I read something a couple months ago where it said he is working out for the first time since he last played. Still not interested.
If he so good why hasn't any other team picked him up? There are a lot more team out there that need help in the secondary a hell of a lot more than us. Everyone can see the trouble they would be bringing in and no-one wants it!
