If I'm a DC preparing for a game, he's the first OC I'd choose to be across, because he's predictable and won't adjust. He was like that last season also. Ryan knew it and used it to his advantage in week 17. Choosing to run Ivory out of shotgun (not his strength) took away the run faster than any team's defense did. And this season he seemed to never adjust, either. Seemed like getting stuffed in the A gaps in first down was something you could take to LV and make a lot of money. Based on that it seems last year he was more lucky than good (thanks to the schedule makers) and this year they caught up to him. Finally, he and Fitz are a package, and a non-performing one at that. I have to believe he was a major reason the Jets stuck with Fitzpatrick all through the off season instead of going elsewhere. I want to see them both move on.

    1st and 10 pass...incomplete...2nd and 10 run, 1 yard gain....3rd and 9 pass....4th and 7 punt....shoot me

No, I saw more 1st and 10 runs right up the gut. Mostly for to the LOS or at most a 2 yard run. Not until he started to use Powell, did we get much yardage.

Maybe during commercial breaks of The Golden Girls this offseason he can brush up on this novelty position they call a TE...

    Haha!

    Answer: "Tight end"

Question: "What are two words Chan Gailey has never used in the same sentence?"

If Gailey wants to retire, I hope we find a way to keep this system intact. The play-calling I am sure can be improved on.

None taken dude. I just find it crazy that we have young receivers making plays and developing. Might have a decent young RT prospect in Shell. Why you would make them learn another system when they are finding themselves is beyond me.

While I understand your point, why get better at a system that's shown it's not the best fit?

Gotta divide the issues in terms of the system vs the play-calling / game-planning. I would prefer we keep the system, but game-planning can always get better. I think the system fits, you got receivers getting open and I think it would be good to mix up the type of run plays, but I can't say the system itself is broken.

He did a great job here in 2015...Had Fitz as his QB and we were playing like an offense with a franchise QB

This season everything has gone to shit from the top down....The special teams and defense and have been far worse even though all 3 units were trash

The schedule was a lot tougher, and the players played more poorly than they did. The crash was predictable enough, considering Gailey and Rodgers never changed a thing. Thespecial teams became an unmitigated disaster. And while I hate to be a rumor monger, there's something not right in the locker room.

Agreed about the schedule....and we all knew it too

Big reason why I never wanted Fitz back as he gets raped by good defenses and embarrssed himself out there this season even worse than I thought he would

Special teams has been a disaster ever since Bowles took over and the defense has gotten progressively worse

Just clean fucking house Woody.....I've never seen a worse coached Jets team all around than this season. Macc can go too for all I care

    Gailey sucked, should be fired.
The most predictable OC in the game, plain as that. I realize that he had the whole year to play with the 4 worst QB's in the history of the NFL, but having to have Fitz back was red flag #1. All coordinators should hit the door. Todd should be fired too, but for continuities sake he may stay.
Whoohooo! Go JETS in 2017, get us the first pick in the draft for the next regime to start out with.

Jeez. Given how crucial this offseason is with Hacks development (yeah I know, he sucks), I'd at least like to see him stay one more year. Hopefully, he will. What are the odds Kevin Patullo can become a decent OC one day?

Gailey I thought was a little better than the previous trash Ocs we have had

Over 2 Seasons like Mac he is trending downward: predictable hardly innovative conservative play call...got some juice with B Powell lately but should have used him way sooner smh

Hack needs a real Coach eg Holmgren Payton Gruden Coughlin etc

We got Chan outa the mothballs? well time to go back to the mothballs...cya
