Well that’s wrong, they’ve been calculating yardage and discussing it since the days of the leather helmets
Can’t use yardage totals Have to grade on a curve that’s how you get to the point where you are calling them studs just for showing up
"Now is the winter of our discontent..." Anyone who expects anything from the NY Jets other than some pleasant surprises here & there and a few good jokes are deluding themselves.
i don't post the year end grades. I don't have any specific reason for doing studs and duds. just nobody does it and it opens discussions about the players and gives me people to key in on when I rewatch the coaches film. I don't think I know better then anyone but I think we reached the real root here. you feel "inferior" for no reason then your own mind and think your being looked down upon so you feel the need to be a jerk to people to try and drag them down to where you feel you are. the reality is we are just 2 dudes talking about football but your reading way too much into nothing
I pretty much got to that place about week 10 this year. I actually viewed the Jacksonville game as more of a comedy of two inept teams.
Save the psychological analysis for someone who cares what you think; just work on your reading comprehension for now. You might then understand a question about calling Jets coaches studs in a game where total offense was 53 yards does not get answered by talking about what happened in different games by different players run by different coaches. You better get a hold of the mods then because somebody used your screen name here and gave LaFleur an "A" in the "Mike LaFleur: Year End Grade" thread. You didn't start that thread but you gave a grade, and continue to argue for it without any specifics- just support how you got there without pointing fingers in every other direction, no one else is being graded in that thread. For the studs and duds you claim it opens discussions but why bother if you stonewall on supporting your claims? You have already told another poster you get confused dealing with similar threads but the common thread is the excuses you try to use to avoid dealing with the topic at hand - just look at the top of the page for the title to see what's under discussion.
I'm pretty sure you win a football game by scoring more points than the other team, not by gaining more yards than them.
I hear you. I was at the Houston game with a bunch of Texans fans and there was no elation or celebration, just the recognition that I had sat through the worst NFL game I ever attended.
When we're done with the coaching 'stud' rating can we tear @GasedAndConfused another new asshole for giving the defense the same rating? I'll whip up some popcorn...
You cannot explain what it was that enabled you to call the coaching staff "studs" in a game that by any measure the team failed miserably. Fine, I just wish you said that from the beginning.
I literally did a few posts up in detail. you must have missed it. I told you I did but you ignore it. i'm not gonna retype it. scroll up
It’s always rather entertaining to see RaleBird engage in a debate about football without mentioning anything about football.
It's tough that you don't understand that this conversation is not about football but about giving grades based on performance. In order to give favorable grades positive experiences must exist.
You "literally" did nothing of the sort. Any reply you have made to the question has simply been a litany of excuses - too young, not enough experience, injuries and comparisons to those teams and personnel that were not involved in the game at all. Where are those positive things the coaching staff did in this miserable display?
