I am hardly obsessed with the Yankees. The reason the best closer in baseball history blew one today, is because he is getting OLD. And nobody epitomizes that more than Derek Jeter. I saw a replay of him getting thrown out at second base on a steal attempt, and I thought it was a slow-mo; BUT it was real time. He looked like Paul LoDuca running down to second. AND Giambi, Abreau, Posada, Damon and Mientkiewicz look like they all stuffed themselves with pasta last night. The only guy that looks like a ball player on that team is AROD.

I've heard people like you say Rivera is declining for the last 3-4 years, and every year he proves the critics wrong. So because he's blown ONE save, it's obviously a sign of decline. Please. And yes, Jeter's incredibly slow now...

If he keeps blowing saves like that consistently, then i'll agree, but you watched A Yankee game today and come to that conclusion?

and you calling the Mets, a team with a better record than the Yankees, a triple-A ball club is a great point?

Compared to the Yankees since 1962,yeah they are AAA,if that. Every year since i've been here it's the Met fans paying more attention to the Yankees than the Mets as their team continues the 20 year stretch of coming up short. And this silly thread proves it. The Sox fans, the ones whose team actually did something made a very few comments in here but the Met fans celebrate it as if their team won something. And that comes from being fans of a team that is dwarfed by the greatness of the yankees.

you may say you dont care about how the mets do, and mets fans can say they dont care how the yankees do, but the fact is when two teams like this play in the same city, of course youre gonna wonder what the other team is doing. the only difference is that yankees fans think everyone loves them, when in reality, everyone hates the egotistical bastards that you all are. your heads are so far up your asses its unbelievable. try to pull them out some day.

I would have to say that the Met fans care about the Yankees just a little more because they are always trying to desperately to measure up. It's like the sibling who the parents favored and always did better in school etc,vs the one living in the parents basement watching the ebay auction for tickets to the Star Wars convention.

    yankees rule homeboy...

we ruled before your met creation and after...

we have beaten you when you were at your best in 2000,
and we will always overwhelm the newspapers and the media with stuff to talk about, for example AROD.

he is doing what no player has done before and by the time we hit may he will have the last record in april broken which is 14 homers held by albert pujols.

look at our record with all of our main starters out, imagine when they are all healthy.

what im trying to say is be afraid be very afraid.

The ONLY reason yankee fans care about the mets at all is b/c jealous Met fans are always worried about the Yankees so we defend our team. I couldn't care less about the mets otherwise.

It's not a thing of jealousy Junc. It's not our fault that Yankee fans are the most ignorant in professional sports.

If the Yankees only had 2 championships in their history, you clowns wouldn't even care to mention their name. it IS a jealousy thing, completely.
