That's not entirely accurate. Yes the Dolphins in effect signed Brandon Marshall but it wasn't as a free agent. They traded (not tendered) two 2nd round picks AND THEN signed him to a $50 mil deal. There's a big difference there.
Hey I can get a thesaurus and think I am an intellectual. So I am going to be as "sophomoric" as possible. Don't come onto another teams site and be some kind of high brow douche bag and not expect to be called out as such. Edit: I should of just called this guy out as the plain old douche bag he is being............ high brow, not so much. Further edit: Back on topic, the ridiculous article.
As I stated, it's similar to a sign and trade (except, no matter what, miami was actually trading away something to obtain Marshall). It's a part of free agency. I think Marshall was signed the next day? Miami was working a deal with Denver and once everything was finalized, Marshall signed and they made the trade. Again, it's the least controversial point in the entire post...why is it pointed out so emphatically?
Wait, because I used the word "sophomoric", I'm high brow and intellectual? I don't know exactly how to take that...
I see nothing wrong with Rex or the player's feelings about a Super Bowl. In fact, this is the same philosophy Weeb Ewbank used back in '68 and took us into the SB. Watch the video on Super Season with Joe Namath: http://www.newyorkjets.com/news/multimedia/channel/18-2009-jets-tv-network
ugh another troll. lets look at the facts, the jets were 9-7, the dolphins were 7-9, we really got better, you guys got a little better [maybe] i'm still trying to figure out how losing taylor [7 sacks] and losing porter [9.5 sacks] makes your defense better????? c.wake is unproven, and your prize free agent dansby is waaaaaaaaaay overrated imo, dansby had 1 sack last year, and his tackles were just in the middle of the pack for lb's, he might have been the best 'available' free agent lb, but that doesnt make him great. meanwhile, we added, taylor, and cromartie, to the #1 defense i look at the dolphins 1st 9 games, bills, vikings, jets, patriots, packers, steelers, bengals, ravens, and titans, except the bills, all those teams are better than the dolphins, imo.
Just why do you care about the garbage by Salqueer? Once and for all: "DO NOT FEED THIS ANIMAL." P.S. Same for Tyche.
The Dolphins did a good job in the off season, have a good young QB and a very good head coach, just like the Jets Not a fan of Mike Nolan as the Coordinator and your defense is not in our league, not yet at least. Lets see how their offense operates without the gimmick plays. I have a feeling its between the Jets and Dolphins for the division.
This article is like high school pep rally bs... 1st off he quotes what Bart Scott said, I'm just curious with how setting the goal to have the best defense ever is such a bad thing? It's not like we had the 29th ranked defense in the league last year and added 2 of the 3 things we needed most in a pass rush specialist and a 2nd CB. Whether or not Pool works out at S remains to be seen but where is the weakness in this D and why is it wrong to set lofty goals? The difference I see is the Dolphins goal is to beat the Jets but the Jets goal is to win the SB. The other thing I ponder about this stupid article is why is he getting quotes from a guy who can't stay healthy and will likely be suspended for his DUI? Then onto Fergie, how many games are you missing this year becuase of your PED use? Apparently Sean Smith didn't recieve much of education at Utah becuase Edwards owned him last year. He had 9 catches and 2 TDs, not to mention he was with the team less then a week the 1st time they played. "Turns out the Dolphins, who swept the Jets last season, aren't too concerned about their greatest rival at all." Right, maybe they should be concerned about why guys on their team are beating up pregant girlfriends? What this bozo fails to mention is that while the Phins did win twice either game could have gone to the Jets but that's behind us. I'm not overlooking the Phins and I'm sure rex is well aware if the fact that we lost to them twice. I don't see that happening again. I think at worst we split with them. I think the Phins have a good team but they still are lacking in major areas, they have no #2 WR, Ronnie Brown was injured again, Ricky is another year older and even with the addition of Odrick thier DL is average at best. They like us have questions at G and S. I'd take Henne over Sanchez right now but Mark has 2 things Henne doesn't.... wins in the playoffs. Oh and both on the road no less. Don't discount those either because he was good as you could expect in those games.
this guy cant take the Jets dick out of his mouth can he? he NEVER writes about analysis or anything worth reading. its always "oooh the Jets think theyre bad ass, I asked Ronnie Brown, how bad ass are the Jets. He replied 'Im the bad ass around here' ; GO DOLPHINS! WHITE PANTS AND CROCS! SOUTH BEACH WHOO!"
Funny thing is the Jets haven't mentioned the Dolphins all offseason. If anything, didn't Rex Ryan kiss and make up with Channing Crowder's mom? Salguero is the one instigating here. If the Jets talk up their team up it isn't in an attempt to speak ill of anyone else, it's just an inner self-confidence. I don't see how Jason Ferguson calling the Dolphins -- who finished third in the AFCE, one game better than Buffalo -- the best team in the division is any different than whatever this writer is trying to accuse the Jets of?
im sure if the dolphins made the afccg he would be saying the dolphins were going to the superbowl too... this guy is a f**king idiot... most of the articles in my school paper are better than this
I laughed at that, because too be totally honest, I think the 2 miami games were Braylons best games all year for us... He dominated the dolphins and can't wait to see him destroy them in 2010....
Hahahah pretty much spot on! Except Salqueero is like Belushi in that scene from Animal House on the ladder. Except he is spanking it outside Rex Ryan's window.
