What a stiff. I don't think Miami's defense can do much more. The offense has just been pitiful. Not just the absence of a run game, but also just horrendous mistakes at the worst possible times. A botched snap and a perfect pass dropped on the last Miami drive. This could very well be Larry Coker's last year. Starting the year with a loss to FSU isn't going to go over very well.
Yeah, well out there it starts at 7:15. I kinda like it for a change. I would love it if I was living on the West Coast. I took FSU and the three points, so this is looking good.
I hate making that game end so late, it'll end at 1 in the morning where a lot of people have to work in the morning
Miami made every mental mistake possible down the stretch of this game. Also, how they managed to go from one of the best programs in terms of O-linemen...to the pitiful pass protection that theyve showed the past 2 years..is beyond me.
Every day that Larry Coker is still the coach at Miami, is one closer day to my slipping into insanity. Did the offense even practice? They were getting delay of games and needing to call timeout out of freaking changes of possession. And my god, that is the dumbest group of five linemen I have ever seen; and it's about time to say bye to Kyle Wright as well. I get that the line play has been terrible so it's not 100% his fault that he sucks, but the fact is that the line isn't going to improve, so they need a more mobile option (Kirby Freeman).
The game-changer was Maddox breaking the Miami LBer on 3rd and 10 and sprung it to lead to the tying TD... On that drive, FSU completed 2 3rd down coversions, made me sick.
Easiest game ever to call. Miami is way overrated, but only slightly more overrated then FSU. Tech Tech VPI baby
Ohio State is going to win it all they have so many weapons its ridiculous. And there defense did lose a lot of players but they always recruit well.
suspending 4 players didnt help either. Larry Coker is must be doing something wrong. unless his half time speech was "lets go easy on them, pretend to not catch passes and jump off sides." i dont know what the hell hapended in the second half
Kirby Freeman wouldnt really help he's mobile but not that much more mobile than Wright.Miami doesnt need a star quarterback we have won without them many times, Ken Dorsey being the last, and Kyle Wright is a way much more talented qb then Dorsey is.Miami's defense will always be great cause of Randy Shannon, i say bring back Butch Davis, he is the reason Coker has a national championship because basically his bed was already made for him.Davis brought all those great offensive players that we are lacking right now.Ryan Moore was a waste, i hoped for him to change it around but all he does is get in trouble and when he is in the game he drops passes.Lance Leggett and Jenkins both had very good games. Hopefully James can be that star rb we havent had since Willis. If Davis isnt available i dont really know who is else to consider.
^^ Thank you so much, the problem with Coker is that Butchs' kids have left the building and he hasn't done much to bring in the talent that Butch was brining in, it was Butch who walked into Gainesville and somehow convinced Clinton Portis to come down to Coral Gables right under Spurriers' nose. COKER MUST GO.COM
as an fsu fan, i honestly wouldn't come down so hard on wright. he definitely looked to be the superior of the 2 qb's that night(i know it's not saying much). imo, he had a much better game than weatherford, but just happened to make one more mistake (2 mistakes vs. 1). i think wright will be fine, just needs to find a rhythm, and when he does, watch out. as bad as both o's looked, both d's looked ridiculous. the question is, are both o's really that bad or are both d's really that good?
Kirby is a better athlete than Kyle (though you're right, the difference isn't tremendous), but the thing that i've seen from him is that he's a smarter runner. Whereas Kyle depends completely on his arm, he'll often be unable to do anything when the rush gets near him, he completely panics. Kirby would be able to have plays designed for him to get yards by himself, which is going to be important as long as the run game is off (though I too hope Javarris is the real deal); and while he doesn't have the arm of Wright, he can do just as well in our offense. As for the future coach, if Butch Davis doesn't want the job, then I'd offer it to Mike Leach from Texas Tech, then hope to bring in Mark Stoops as the Defensive Coordinator.
