Jim Burt was a good nose tackle. He played for the Giants from 1981-88 and the 49ers from 1989-91. Bert, on the other hand, is a unibrowed puppet made out of orange foam.
although i dont think this is the first time a muppet has been involved with the team, Coach dorothy has been making most of the play calls this year http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=sSb_n2KgjqQ
This story smells funny to me. I'm not saying you're lying, maybe your friend is telling you stories, or maybe it's 100% true. It just smells funny to me. First, I was just listening to Rex Ryan interview on ESPN radio and he said he hasn't even talked to many of the players yet and that his focus right now is shoring up "a great" coaching staff. After all the coaches are signed he will begin contacting each player individually to talk to them - he will contact them in alphabetical order. So, this doesn't quite jive with the whole "already had a few personal meetings" part of the story. Second, I've never heard of Dowling. Why would he go there and why haven't there been any reports of him going there. The media reports on every little piece of info they have this time of year. Third, if everyone noticed something was wrong with his arm to the point where he couldn't make all the throws, why wasn't he pulled or looked at by the doctors? Sorry for being skeptical, I just have a hard time believing this. Again, I'm not trying to say you're making anything up. Your friend could be or maybe I'm just wrong.
yeah um because taking one or two classes a week working towards an MBA must take 24 hours a day.... Seriously what do you want from Brick 24 hours of weight room a day? Want him downing steroids just to make you feel better? Hell how many hours a WEEK do you spend in a weight room? I don't claim to be a hardcore lifter, but I spend about an hour a day now that im in college. I would bet you shore up at less than 2 hours a week. Brick has Plenty of time to go to class and work on his MBA. figure in the fact he will only be able to take a class or two per year, It will take a long time to get an MBA at that rate. Good to see he has his head in the right place. Hell MORE players should take this route. Professional sports is not a garuntee, hell plenty of high draft picks blow their cash thinking they are superstars suck balls and end up working at walmart because they don't have an education.
good post... they are lacking in this entire thread. Your last paragraph is spot on. Cheers  Most guys take part in a business curriculum at some of the top business schools in the country, sponsored by the NFL. Imagine that folks?? The NFL puts these guys in school. So for all of you that are saying "why is he in school???????" "he should be in the weight room" durrrrrr............. you are the ignorant football fan cancer, giving me a bad name when I talk football in public. Because I am lumped in with the rest of you.
don't think i've quite caught on....what are the parallels being talked about here??? ramos was sacked mid-season and redknapp actually had managing experience, being the pompey manager before taking over. jets fire mangini at the end of the season and hire ryan, a rook..lol think im missin something here tho
Steve Young is a lawyer. Ickey Woods was a meat salesman after football. 6 free months a year is a lot of time to take a class or two to better yourself. Professional athletes should be commended for bettering themselves, not vilified for it. ------------------ Anyway, as for the OP, I'm a big Favre fan (and apologist) but this story disturbs me a little bit. I don't care how old he is, he should have a relationship with his linemen. Now I've seen conflicting reports about how he conducts himself in the clubhouse, so I've always taken them with a grain of salt. However, this is a "horse's mouth" thing now. That disturbs me.
