Jamal was on the Fan earlier today and said starting this Friday the Jets will have a players only meeting each week for the rest of the season. At least someone seems to care.
Doesn't a scheduled players only meeting defeat the whole purpose? Maybe they will watch film on the back-up QB.
I was listening to ESPN radio and it was being reported that Jamal seems to consistently be going rogue, abandoning his assignment to try and rack up tackles, which is leading to him getting caught out of position often. If true, my opinion of him drops significantly. NOTE: This wasn't the host's assessment, he was naming people with a strong ability to analyze film.
Interesting. Adams said the Jets were giving the “bare minimum” last season. What are they giving now?
He said that?! Oh, my God, Jamal, shut up already. Unless the players meeting is all about stabbing Todd Bowles in the back and pulling a mutiny on the Bounty. I would need the full quote so it's not taken out of context, but that sounds terrible.
If true, maybe it's because he knows that Rodgers/Bowles' schemes aren't for shit, and he's trying to do something to help the team win.
It's sad but I agree. At this point I'd prefer that Adams coach the defense. Besides a true pass rushing threat we have the horses. WTF are we doing scheme wise? I know one thing that we aren't doing scheme wise - making any adjustments in game whatsoever! Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
being at the game last sunday, that's kinda what i thought.... but unfortunately seemed like he was trying to compensate for others at the time..... but as the game wore on (and I cared less) the beer offerings from my party became more and more interesting
Not for nothing, but this "players only meeting" on Fridays has been occurring since Todd Bowles took over as head coach here. He was talking about it today in his daily press conference. It's nothing new and he was confused as to why it is being reported as a new development lol
It was a comment on the culture when he got here with players. "Everybody was used to losing," Jets safety Jamal Adams told Bleacher Report. "You can always tell that vibe. I came in, and it was like everybody wanted to do the bare minimum. They didn't want to go above and beyond. They didn't want to take that extra step. "They didn't want to be uncomfortable, [but] to be great, you have to be uncomfortable. You have to be willing to sacrifice and willing to do the little things. And the team, the organization, just wasn't doing those things." When the man is right he is right.
“Listen guys, I know Todd has been saying we should do this all week, but what we should really do is.........” Can only help Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Listening to the homer they say Adams is the greatest leader they have seen since General Patton. Dude is all mouth and no plays.
Love it. This is the gospel truth. Funny, Bowles said today Sam is progressing but wishes he could see more improvement from him. For God sakes, we have been praying for Bowles and Kacey "no fucking good" Rodgers to do the same for 4 years and it has gotten worse. Oh wait, it's all Mac fault for picking the wrong players in the defense.
Eh. Whatever. At least he cares and is trying something. Adams is a bit too much of a yapper for me. He's been ok but not lived up to his draft billing yet. There's still time Bowles is a lost cause. He's in over his head and not an intelligent coach. But at least we know some players care and want to win and want to put in the extra work to work towards winning
