Who said there was an attack in the posts I responded to? No one did. But you just added one in, so cheers bud. You’re obsessed with the guy.
I suppose it’s fair to say Cousin’s market is either a BU on a contender or a starter on a non contender team. However, there are a few reports from folks like Connors and others, stating the NYJ have expressed no interest in pursuing Cousins, as it’s mutual. To me thats a non starter.
Reports that we’re looking into Tua should he be cut. Absolute nightmare. Bad player, even worse in the northeast and a bad teammate. This would be career suicide for Aaron Glenn and if he goes with it he deserves to be fired when he does.
Sounds like the Cardinals are willing to move Brissett for a solid day 3 pick. We have a compensatory 4th and two 5ths. No brainer IMO
Funny and not that I care about the Cards, but interesting that they are looking to get rid of both QBs…I get not wanting to pay Murray … and I want NOTHING to do with him for us either… but I don’t get also getting rid of Brissett…not many options out there, wonder what they are looking at. For me, I don’t want Murray with his terrible leadership and work ethic and attitude, I don’t want Cousins because you know fuck him, so I’d prefer Brissett or a trade for Mills I guess.
I haven’t heard anything about being a bad teammate but I have read that his reads have been affected by his severe concussions. Damaged goods. I agree - steer clear of him.
He’s publicly tossed coaches and teammates under the bus which is a bad luck no matter what but it’s an extremely bad luck when you are also terrible at your job.
The QB moves by teams like the Cardinals, Dolphins, etc. in this offseason are going to be very telling if teams are going to try to nose dive to the bottom of the standings for a top pick. If the Cardinals trade Brissett after releasing Murray but then go sign Willis or someone, then maybe they’re not looking at the 2027 draft like they are if they sign some low upside bum to lose games for them.
Ehh. I mean in this scenario is anybody wanting to do this while looking at Brissett as anything more then a 1 year losing season bridge? I'd rather just sign a free agent and keep the pick. At face value I'd also rather bet on 1 season of 2026 Tua over 2026 Brissett. If it ends up being there Tua on the cheap for a 1 year production run sounds better to me then banking on guys like Mariota, Brissett, Trubisky, Flacco, Pickett, ect ect. Where i believe both the floor and ceiling of Tua is likely higher.
Brissett was a lot better than Tua last year. If I’m going for a one year bridge guy I’m going with the guy that has had success with our OC and is a positive locker room presence. And also arguably the better QB.
No, we don't have our own 5th, traded it last year for Tyler Barron. No 3d either. We do have two 4th, compensatory 5th, 6th from the Bills and two 7th. I don't think I would give up a 4th for him. He is a bridge, no chance at an upside. 6th, sure, maybe even compensatory 5th. But nothing higher than end of 5th, and ideally 6th. Not sure I would even give up our own high 5th, but since it is the end of 5th, worth considering. There are free agent QBs, like Mariota, Trubisky, Murray, where we do not have to give up anything. I would approach a QB position this year to get the best bridge QB we can without spending any decent assets. Basically I would look longer term, and not short term. We are talking about a bridge here on a 1 year deal without any long term potential and there are comparable free agents available still where we do not have to burn a pick. Our situation is actually attractive to the free agents, since they can start here. But for a 6th I would definitely do it if Reich wants him. Hopefully it is solid enough day 3 pick for them.
I don't know...he's on record as having two teams in mind, Minny being one floated, and I highly doubt he wants to go from the Cardinals to the Jets. Let's face it, he already got paid so $$ isn't going to be a determining factor. Then again, I'd imagine the list of teams who actually want him is very small. He doesn't have a very good reputation, league wide.
I meant to say two 4s and a compensatory 5. I’m pretty sure I had to write that post four times and a compensatory fifth time just to frigging be able to post it. This website is going to shit at the worst time possible.
I’m not gonna pretend he’s a prime candidate for a Sam Darnold/Baker Mayfield turnaround but he’s definitely got a chip on his shoulder and a change of scenery sometimes works wonders especially when the relationship was as strained as it was between him and Arizona. I could easily see a Kevin O’Connell type thinking he can turn him into an above average starting quarterback again. The one thing I will say about how he would fit here… Frank Reich has gotten the most out of everyone he’s had starting at quarterback when he’s been an offensive coordinator. There’s a track record of him catering to what he has. I still don’t think Kyler is going to end up here now that there’s been chatter About the Vikings. No brainer for him.
That’s a great point about both Kyler and Frank. In my mind, Frank’s in the same conversation as McDaniels up in New England. Great coordinator but doesn’t seem to be a very good head coach… I wish there was more certainty around whether or not Kyler could evolve into a decent long-term quarterback. Sadly, if the Jets didn’t have the track record that they do, I would be more amenable to taking the chance on a guy like Murray, if he would come. Unfortunately, I have a feeling there’s more to this Minnesota thing. McConnell‘s future as a head coach is tied to whether or not they can solve the QB problem this year or, at the very least, no later than next year.
